Gotta be MJ

He combines both statistical Greatness with team and individual achievements. He also passes the eyeball test.

Brady is great, but the Patriots are also great. and there are 11 starters on both sides the ball, and Adam Vinatieri kicked 2 40+ yarders to win Super Bowls

You can't make an argument that TB is the best QB based on just statistics.

You can for MJ. 30+ points a game for his career is insane.

What if you combined both regular season AND playoff statistics? Who would emerge on top?

Not to mention his magnum opus of his 1993 NBA Finals performance where he basically willed the Bulls to that championship despite underwhelming performances by both Grant and Cartwright in the concluding games of that series. Honestly, can we all imagine how absurd MJ's aggregate career averages would've been had he just stayed retired after hitting the Finals-winning shot against Utah in 98? Would've been unconscionable to even attempt to approach in today's NBA from a career perspective.

Jordan by a landslide. Jordan played a game where one player can make a major impact in a lot of different ways.

Brady can only play one position and still relies on a lot of other things to go his way.

Gretzky hands down is the GOAT of all GOATs

Go look at his stats compared to next closest person in NHL history and it is insane what he did

Its a good argument but I find it hard to believe hockey has the same concentration of talent a sport like basketball does. Basketball is REALLY popular and a lot of great talents aren't even good enough to get to the NBA. I'm not saying hockey is easy, but you don't have near the talent pool and it would make sense a guy like Gretzky could stand out so far in a small talent pool.

Soccer in the US is a great analogy. Why does US soccer suck? Because our best athletes typically play other sports growing up while in other countries soccer is the only sport kids grow up playing.

The ultimate team sport is American Football. Brady cannot take the game over by himself to the same extent that Jordan could. My vote is for MJ.

You could have at least linked the ESPN article you stole this question from.

In terms of athletic ability Brady is not in the same area code with Jordan. Jordan could single handedly take over a game. For a large part of his career he played and won with less talent around him than any of these “now days” superstars.

Manning still on top.

He averages 31.5 PPG in Chicago.

He had 10 scoring titles. Which is insane

TB is tied with like 5 other QBs with 4 Passing TDs titles.

Neither. Top of the heap in their respective sports but lets be real in other sports they would be medicore at best. When i think of greatest athlete they gotta be good in more than one area.

Michael Jordan obviously, his dominance at his sport and how that dominance extended to pop culture and the Air Jordan/JumpMan brand is almost insurmountable, the fact this is even an debate indicates to me that people are arguing just to argue instead of conducting discussions of substance.

Yet you STILL preach that Bron is better than Micheal was in the NBA.....

Make up your stupid mind........

IF YOU CAN...

You were better when you were starting threads about Bart Starr............

Are you retarded? Because Tom frickin Brady can hold onto the ball and keep your team off the field or he can score almost at will whenever his team needs it.

That's nice... But Barry Sanders was A better FOOTBALL player than Tom Brady,,,, FACT end of discussion.........
