Anyone have experience with these? I just got a Ring doorbell, and I love it. Thinking about the floodlight cam, so I can have a better view of the front of my house.

Work great, just make sure you got enough wifi.

usually 65 down / 15 up. Garage is relatively close to the router.

I have 2 at my house and 2 at the camp. I really like them. As another poster mentioned good WiFi is very important for them to work properly.
Just FYI- If for some reason, you have problems with connection speed, Ring will send the Chime Pro (WiFi extender/ chime unit that sells for $49 at retailers) units for free if you deal with their tech support.

Good unit but you can’t change the bulbs...

Is this true?

So what happens when the bulb goes out? You just throw the whole unit away?

Ya WTF?

Well that puts a damper on things.

Well I looked at a Reddit post, and they said the bulbs are LED and should easily last 10 years.

Do you guys live in high crime areas?
I'm not sure I understand the need for a floodlight cam, or even a door cam.
How many times a week does this thing activate? How many of those instances are security issues?
I love technology and spying on people and shite but if I installed this at my house all I would get is the mail man, the Amazon delivery person, contractors working on neighbors houses, and the occasional dog walker.
Is this strictly a tech novelty or is there a legit reason to have these cameras?
I feel like I am missing out on a lot of action by living in a gated community that is 80% retirees.

YEs, they should last 10 plus years and I doubt Ring has had any issues yet. The lights are very bright and each light socket is made of several small square LED bulbs in a cluster.
Hopefully down the road they will offer a replacement light assembly for these.

Two huge no-go's for me are:
1) Can't change the bulbs. Like wtf...it's a light, you HAVE to be able to change the bulb. That was just stupid of Ring.
2) No option for it to be hardwired.
Good thing is that Ring has excellent customer service and value consumers' feedback. They may fix these issues. If so, I'd definitely consider one. I have the doorbell pro and it is pretty good overall. Only reason I got it even though it is wireless, is because my router is basically at the door right by it.

The only way for it to work is hardwired

It can't be hardwired for network.

This made me laugh a lot harder than it probably should have.

Yeah, that would be nice. Their cameras require very good coverage to work properly.
Ring has released an “Elite” doorbell that works with POE, but is $500... kinda a big jump from their other models at $150-250.
They are also coming out with a new “Elite” stickup cam that will work with POE (and/ or wireless) as well, but no price has been announced yet
