When someone says "Jacksonville" to you, what do you think of?

You probably would've never heard of Green Bay if they didn't happen to have a publicly traded football team that couldn't move. That city has nothing else. It's half the size of Shreveport

This is inconvenient af though and burns a lot of gas.

Not necessarily. Most people find their niche area and don’t leave much. I? rarely leave the island.

Miller Park is great, and the tailgating is top notch. Super nice people who can get after it. Highly recommend going there for a game. (I'm a Cubs fan but always head up for one game a summer).

This kind of made me laugh. Most things don't look bad in the dark because you can't see shite.

Lay off GB man. The best skiing in NE Wisconsin.

I'm just saying man. Have you ever heard of Dothan, Alabama? It's insane to me a city that size could have an NFL team

quote:It's just where the city limits are arbitrarily drawn. Jacksonville population is double that of Atlanta which is insane. Atlanta's metro area is much larger. The only difference is if you live in a subdivision 20 miles from downtown Atlanta, you live in some other municipality in the burbs. If you live in a subdivision 20 miles from downtown Jacksonville, you're still in Jacksonville

I'm just joking with ya. I was born and raised in GB about five blocks from Lambeau Field. It's a great town to raise a family in, with tons of great people, just not really my thing at this point. If you're talking pro sports town, there isn't another one in North America that is as boring as Green Bay.
(Not sure if you noticed in the picture I posted, the guy is skiing down coal)

The beaches are also not included in that data except that little parcel in the middle of AB. Even though for all intents and purposes they could be.

On the plane ride back we sat next to Bart Starr, struck up a conversation with he and his wife. Signed our cheeseheads. Great, great guy. Insane coincidence when you consider we are die hard Bama fans, this is the only Packers game we've ever gone to and here's a Packers/Bama legend right next to us on the way home. That's my Green Bay story.

One thing I miss about North Florida and South Alabama/Georgia is boiled peanuts. Personally I love boiled peanuts. Most people out here in CO have never even heard of boiled peanuts. I can't find them.

This thread is awful.
Jax is cool. Many worse "pro" cities.
frick San Antonio is one big parking lot and strip malls

Yeah even when I lived in Tuscaloosa they were hard to find. You're right it's strictly a tri state area thing

I'm biased but every time I go to a game at Lambeau I realize it's one of the greatest experiences in sports. If you wanna do it right, you've gotta go when it's freezing and get liquored up and squeeze in amongst the other portly folks in attendance. Salt of the earth people in Green Bay I tell ya.
I think the coal piles on the river are all gone now as the power plant has switched over or been shut down. That area downtown and along the river is all being developed now.
