I watch every game on NBA League pass, looks like a lot of blue and teal seats to me (not fans) at Pels home games.

I'm not trying to talk shite about the Pels fan-base, I just think they don't get it. And don't give me that 'it's just the internet' shite. I remember how the fans treated Monty and his family, it mirrored the buzz on these boards.

The team has two All Star starters, everybody should be happy. Wrong, the thread turned into a bithching about everything post within like three replies. Typical Pels 'fans'.

Has there ever been a team with 2 starters with such a poor record?

Second round is deep now? Do you think the Saint's Divisional playoff run this year was deep too?

The few Pelicans fans that attend home games seem amused in heckling Pels players and coaches, than providing a home court advantage.

What are you talking about?

People think it is ridiculous Asik has this gigantic contract and doesn’t even play. Gentry said in an interview the other day he is basically useless in todays NBA. The biggest things the Pels have struggled with are typically associated with coaching such as unforced turnovers, defensive effort, and consistency.

The people in the stands still support the team overall.

First, do you really think the other 29 arenas are completely free of jackasses heckling the home coach? I don't think that'd be the case at all.

Second, I think you're leaving out some important context as to why these fans are so dissatisfied with the "improvement" the team has had this year. The reason is that even with 2 All Star Starters this team is no better than the team Monty had 3 years ago. Demps was allowed to throw away 2 seasons and hire a coach not many fans actually wanted all in an effort that has lead them back to the same place they were 3 years ago when Demps should have been fired with Monty.

If this was year 3 of a different regime that needed to change direction I think the fans would be a lot more forgiving and look at this as actual improvement rather than running in place. But this is year 7 of Demps and all he's delivered is another bubble playoff team that's so capped out and asset strapped that it has little potential for significant improvement. Do you really think people should be happy about squandering 2 seasons of AD's productivity to get back to where they were 3 years ago?

I will say that nearly all of the Gentry hate is unwarranted and is based mostly on people not wanting him hired in the first place. The complaints about Monty were at least based on real basketball reasons like rotations and scheme, not just whether the team lost.

He's talking about Monty saying he didn't feel comfortable letting his wife and kids coming to games and hear idiots heckle him. And like most people trying score points in internet arguing, he's exaggerating, extrapolating, and conflating things to presume unavailable facts and prove himself right.

Monty being heckled + This board's Gentry hating + seeing empty seats at week night games against bad teams = 100% of the fans not too pathetic to show up are so pathetic that they heckle the coach.

It's pretty solid logic, we should all feel very bad about ourselves, either for not going to games or for heckling Gentry when we do.

Kobe Bryant and Dwight Howard were starters in the all-star game in 2013 and that Lakers team went 27-55.

Kobe Bryant and Andrew Bynum were starters in 2012 and went 45-37.

In 2010 Steve Nash and Amar’e Stoudemire were starters for the all-star game and the Suns went 40-42.

That’s as far back as I went. I’d like to see some info from the 90’s and ‘00 if anyone has time to look.

7 games into the conference semis. You win and you’re playing for the conference

If the saints would’ve taken the Vikings to game 7 yes it would’ve been deep

I like this. Make the playoffs and starting in the all star game gives us a better shot at retaining Cousins. The Sacramento reputation is already wearing off.

Wrong.

Curry and Lebron are captains and will pick their rosters out of the pool of every all-star, no matter if it's Eastern or Western Conference players. But they did not choose the All-Star starters.

It should be a point in the Pel's favor, he was surprised to be named a starter.

Boogie said he was "surprised" when he was named an All-Star starter yesterday. Why?

"The media don't like me"

Gulp your coffee and look confused. We do make champions in Ohio, LeBron and Curry are from Ohio. Ben Roethlisberger is from Ohio.

“The biggest question was, was it going to work? I think we just proved that it is and it can work,” said Davis, the NBA’s fourth-leading scorer at 26.7 points per game. “But it’s a testament to our hard work. We like each other, we complement each other. Just having those two All-Star spots taken up by us is huge for us as players, for our team and the organization.”

...“I think this is big for the entire city, the organization and our team moving forward,” Cousins said. “It just kind of shows what this combo has the potential to have. I’m excited for it.”

I agree completely with Davis. I had questions about the combo working, but they and the coaches have figured out how to make it work on both ends (basically top 10 offense and top 10 defense when they share the court)

obviously still questions about supporting players and how to make it work when one sits, but we'll see what happens when Hill comes back

Cool.

Don’t think that’s how it works.

Would love to hear what hand you had in creating them though.
