Things are looking better with landing him. How does he fit in with the QB depth right now? I haven't seen much film on him but hopefully this is good news!

The article is spot on about LSU needing a qb in this class. I know some would take Goodrich over Foster if both wanted to come and Surtain and Chase had the other two spots.
I think Foster is an automatic take if he wants to come. I have read where some complain he is not an accurate passer, but that's just not so. He had a 67% completion rate in high school, which is extremely high for an high school qb. Foster threw for a lot of yds and a lot of tds.
He is being recruited by a lot of other good schools. LSU's best argument for him, which he seems to get, is our shallow depth chart at qb.

From an Auburn mod correct?

He looked pretty inaccurate at the opening, but obviously there are other factors that could be in play in an environment like that

I haven’t seen film of opening so I can’t comment on that.
I did do the radio for high school football games for 12 years and had a son who played qb at his high school, so I have seen dozens of high school qbs over the years, a couple of which went on to play college.
Very few high school qbs I saw had a completion percentage over 60%. Foster was 67 % in his senior year. That’s pretty good. Brennan was an amazing 70%.
I don’t think a high school qb could be considered inaccurate with that completion percentage over an entire year under game conditions. Unless his stats were manipulated somehow, I would say Foster was quite accurate in his career for a hs qb.

IIRC, I thought there were reports that it was windy up there that week so it kind of affected everything.
Either way, give me Foster over Goodrich. Not a knock on Goodrich's talent, but we've never really had a problem recruiting DBs at LSU, so losing out on Goodrich wouldn't be the end of the world. We already have Hampton for 2019, likely bring Stingley back into the class, then you have guys like Bobby Wolfe as well.

I'd guess the melt around here would calm down for like a day or two if we landed Foster...

He's not coming here. Barring anything unforeseen, the last three spots will go to Surtain, Chase and Goodrich.

You don't follow recruiting do you? Lol, kids change their minds with a whim. The good thing is that LSU has the cards in its favor with this bunch. We will sign 3 of the 4 out of Goodrich, chase, surtain jr, and foster. Surtain jr is coming here, chase is coming too, Goodrich and foster may come down to who decides first and wants to be a tiger. It's just that simple.

I agree with you. I hadn't seen his HS stats. I only saw the opening highlights on his Hudl page.

Lol. It's already decided and it has nothing to do with one deciding before the other.

Are you saying we already have silents on all 3?
Posted on 1/17/18 at 3:56 pm to BayouCowboy
Silents are so non-committal in nature. It's like, "I really like you the most and I plan on coming here but I don't want anyone else to know." So I don't get into discussing those. Those three are the top three remaining choices by the staff and it's about as done as it can be without it being the first Wednesday in February.

I get the sensation that Foster will be in and Goodrich out. Wouldn't mind either.
Posted on 1/17/18 at 4:01 pm to razer
Then why would they be putting such a full court press on Foster?
Posted on 1/17/18 at 4:11 pm to whitefoot
Not putting all their eggs in one basket I guess. They feel that Goodrich is a way better prospect at DB than Foster is at QB. They feel that Foster is not a difference maker at QB and they have better prospects already on board with MB and LN.
