Jarvis Landry is an alpha dawg....I don't think that bodes well in New Orleans.
Mike Thomas is the better WR, he'd be the guy. But those two together would be a sick combo that would help Drews game

Give me Jarvis Landry, frick the rest.

Crazy to think Brees had the year he had with only two decent WRs.

They're talking about tagging Sammy.

brandon Coleman and coby fleener had more 20+ yard catches than Jarvis Landry did in 2017. So please define alpha for me.

Any of those. Out of those I would have ARob, Juice, and Pryor as my top 3.

Maybe he meant prima Donna.
I'd lose my shite if we paid a slot receiver 10mil+.
10mil can get you a coverage linebacker.
Marvin Jones and Mohamed Sanu are better #2 receivers and they're being paid what 7 and 8mil?

Terrelle Pryor WR WAS $6,000,000 UFA - Great Size, Athletic, Good Speed, Better version of Colston, about to hit his prime

Lee led the NFL in drops. But then again Ginn had a drop problem before he came here.
Would love Robinson or Landry but they’ll both cost a lot especially Landry.

Colston was an Ice Wagon that couldn't get open in the last 3 years.....yes with Drew Brees - Pryor is a better, more athletic, and faster version of Colston

Me too, but Jarvis gonna be lookin’for the BIG bucks. Not in the budget
Posted on 1/16/18 at 7:07 pm to TechDawg2007
6 guys that Brees could make into a pro bowler on that list at least.
We should add one or two. Spend a little dough on one and bring one in for competition at lower cost. We need at least 1 impact WR added.

This dude had 20 REC in 9 games. Don't you dare compare him to Colston. Pryors 2016 season is a flash in the pan in comparison to his career as a whole. The guy is an ok receiver but hardly a guy to bust a nut over.

Pryor tried to play hurt in 2017

This draft doesn't suck for TE's. The Saints should target Mark Andrews of Oklahoma in the first or second round. My hope is that the Saints take strong safety Ronnie Harrison of Alabama in the first and then trade up into the second for Andrews.

quote:What are you smoking? Pryor couldn't hold Colston's jock. He's had one good season playing for a team with no other offensive options, will be 29 when the season starts and is a head case.

I really don't see the point in targeting a lower end WR in free agency. Coleman & Snead can be retained for cheap & both of them can block. I'd rather sign one of the top guys or just use the draft & bank on our returning WR's.
Top 7 targets - Market Value in quotes
-Jarvis Landry (14.1 mil)
-Allen Robinson
-Sammy Watkins (9.2 mil)
-Jordan Mathews (8.8 mil)
-Marquise Lee (8.7 mil)
-Terrelle Pryor
-Paul Richardson (6.4 mil)
Landry & Robinson are way too much money (keep in mind, we have to pay Mike Thomas in about 2 years). Watkins, Mathews, & Marquise Lee are good options, but I think that's too much money to commit in players that all have legit bust concerns.
Pryor got 6 mil last year & he might not have much leverage as far as asking price. I'd take him for a bargain price. Paul Richardson would easily be my #1 target.
Richardson, Pryor (if the price is right), or wait until the draft (1st or 3rd round) imo.

Snead and Coleman had separation problems. We need an upgrade there. I say grab a TE and then a WR after the initial madness. Let someone else break the bank. We need compliments to Michael Thomas, but we have our star WR.

If salary wasn't factored in...I'd take Robinson in our offense over any WR on that list (even Jarvis Landry).
As far as good value contracts...I'd go Richardson at WR & Sefarian-Jenkins at TE (he quietly had a good year & will probably be underpaid due to his past.
Nothing wrong with the big splashes, but I'd just rather get as many legit players (with bargain contracts) as possible.
Either way, hopefully the coaches choose wisely (like last year). That 2017 free agent class was absolutely sick...
-Chase Daniel
-Adrian Peterson - only played like 4 games & we got a draft pick for him. Kind of unfair to deem him a bust.
-Ted Ginn
-Larry Warford
-Nick Fairley - we got screwed, & I guess you can say that he's a bust. Can't really pin it on the coaches though.
-Alex Okafor
-AJ Klein
-Manti Te'o
-Rafael Bush
