This would hurt a lot less if it didn't feel like Brees window is closing

I know we had a phenomenal draft class and a young core but Brees is still the heart of this team. At best we have 4 or 5 more years with our GOAT and then it's back in the wilderness with every other NFL looking for a serviceable QB.

His career was wasted a long time ago. They just sealed coffin with this one

Yeah that's what sucks the most

Bress pulls out a hall of fame GOAT comeback and it's blown by that crap

Wasted? He’s going to own every record and has a ring

He’ll finish with a better career than 99.9999% of al QBs ever

Yeah it sucks. Definitely more ammo for Brees in the contract negotiations

The point is he's had 2 completely blown playoff games on last plays by his defense.

He has a superbowl ring and one of the most impressive QB performances in the history of the NFL, but yeah, I guess it's wasted because we don't win the superbowl every year.

If we keep our defense on track and get our oline healthy, Brees will be back in the superbowl before he retires.

No doubt. It's almost like that loss that way can't possibly get any worse, but Brees's window closing really does make it much worse.

This was a great shot for us.

i'd add a true #2 receiver to take some of the burden of Thomas, and yeah, i totally agree....

to act like it's all over now for the Saints is stupid... yes, Brees only has a couple of seasons left, but with the talent on the roster now, he's as close as he's ever been, and with a defense that can be counted on, so we don't have to put 35+ on the board just to have a chance to win, i like our chances, and i think he does too...

They cost him two more rings and wasted the last 8 years of his career. This isn't fricking Case Keenum where you say "Oh he has all these great stats he did plenty." This is a 1st ballot Hall of Famer who has received no help whatsoever. Today was a GREAT comeback and they pissed it all away in spectacular fashion. Like they always do. This was the year where he was supposed to make his last great run.

I 100% agree (3 years IF we are lucky though,) that is going to be an extra long flight home for poor old Drew. I feel the worst for him

They’ll have a few years left with Brees. Keep the line strong and running game going.

The problem is a lot of young good nfc teams.

Right. And Nick Foles won't be the Eagles QB next year and the Vikings could upgrade at QB as well
