Last time we went through this, there was a whole lot of discussion regarding how cold the temps were at different levels of the atmosphere, and how that impacts if you get snow, sleet, freezing rain, etc.
Is that not as much of an issue this time? Is the temp pretty consistent all the way up?

The downside of having laptops as a work computer. We can 'work from home' at a moment's notice.
Working from my home office and looking out the window.

Last five measureable events

2008
Dec 11

Dec 4

2010
Feb 12

2017
Dec 8
2.5” (I’m guessing here. It’s not updated)
I was beside myself from 2008-2010 with those two bitter cold and snowy winters, and I’m beside myself now :jump1:
Edit: WOAH...where’s the memorable 1/1/2002 snow??? Did BR not get any? We got probably 2” in central.

Wasn't it 2002? I lived in Walker at the time but I have a picture of my son as a baby in the snow. He was born in 2001.
Wasn't that when we played Illinois in the Sugar Bowl and they all laughed about La being shut down for snow/ice?

At this rate we will have sleet/snow mix in Baton Rouge within an hour. Maybe even 30 minutes.
This moved in VERY, VERY fast. MUCH faster than any model anticipated. Get ready - I hope you all brought clothes with you to work. I sure as frick didn't.

Houston Bush airport (IAH) just had a closure to clear the runways, one runway has been re-opened to arrivals. Only two flights have landed since 9am, one at 9:24am and one at 10:30am...

Is there at least a store close by that you can grab some beer at?
If you're stuck in the office might as well make it fun.

Can an employer be sued if someone gets into a wreck driving in icy conditions when the rest of the world, including state government offices, closed to prevent it from happening?

Many years ago my work tried to call me in. Told them I was drinking and they were forcing me in. Told them they had to come get me, was not driving. Next day, the clown that tied to force me in got in a shite load of trouble.
