Okay, Okay, I confess you caught me. I made the whole thing up out of whole cloth. You guys got me, man. You guys apparently are much smarter than I am and figured it out the whole thing. You saw right through me man.

God please forgive me and don't send me to hell please for lying. I only did it because you guys were being mean to coach O.

I admit that I lied about Aranda telling O that Ensminger is a better play caller than Canada, and I admit the A&M rumor came off the top of my head, even though I saw that rumor posted here on the rant several times.

And I lied, O, Aranda, and Ensminger all hate each other's guts immensely and I made up the whole thing about them being the best of friends, like I said, out of whole cloth.

Hence, I guess I will have to repent by taking the rest of the afternoon off to go to confession to confess my sins before its too late. So I beseech you guys, please forgive me for my sins. I promise not to ever do it again.

"Qualified" is a relative term. In that, way back in the past he once held this position, it's impossible to say he is "unqualified." But given his track record as an OC, and the fact that not one P5 school has employed him as their OC in two decades, it stands to reason that he is not viewed as any great OC by anyone...at all.

So when some say that Ensminger is not qualified, what they are saying is that he is not qualified as a candidate in terms of the quality of his resume. Same as Orgeron was not qualified based on his abysmal HC career and sub .500 career record to have even sniffed an interview at LSU. We were promised better, we pay for better, and our program demands that we actually DO go out and do our due diligence to find the very best we can hire. Tapping the TE's coach who has not cashed a paycheck as an OC since the Clinton Administration is not living up to those very reasonable expectations EVERYONE ought to have for this program.

None of this has anything PERSONALLY to do with Steve Ensminger. It is a valid critique of his resume and the complete lack of a real search.

As O and Aranda both agreed that Ensminger was the best man for the job because according to Aranda, Ensminger is a better play caller than Canada, and if anyone should know it is Aranda who schemed against both of them every day in practice.

Weren't you just ragging on Aranda a couple of weeks ago because he recommended hiring Canada? not O?

Now he's an important piece of the hiring puzzle?

Which is it man? Are you preemptively preparing to blame him for hiring Ensminger?

Is Ensminger the best OC in college football?

If he isn't, why did Orgeron lie to the fans?

So because there’s a rumor that Ensminger called the plays in that game, we’ll dismiss having an actual OC search like every other team has and that’s that?

Are you kidding? Or are you really that dumb?

Well, according to Aranda and O, Ensminger is a better OC than Canada.

Does that qualify as a consolation prize?

Unqualified is a ridiculous overstatement!! You may not want him all you negatigers but he has plenty of OC experience in college football and no one can make a playbook that will fit our personnel more than someone inside the program!! Not to mention someone who BROKE RECORDS while he was play calling.

unrelated, but i found this gem

quote:

Ensminger is not going to be the damn offensive coordinator. The only people dumb enough to believe that are the coach O haters that have been saying O was going to lose every game he coaches at LSU.

In any event, O only mentioned Ensminger's name because Ensminger is the obvious go-to guy to call the plays in the event Canada found another job and left before the bowl game. However, since that didn't happen, Canada will call the plays.

Furthermore, Ensminger isn't a candidate to become the permanent OC as he doesn't even want the damn job. For that O will hire someone else from outside the program. All this panic and it's all because you haters want O gone so badly. Man, all I got to say is all this misery being exhibited by you losers is bringing me great joy and pleasure. Carry on, the more the merrier.

How old was that post? A long time ago not long after I had heard about the press conference that I missed and before I fully understood what was really happening.

And then subsequently though, I connected again with one of my little birdy friends that always has inside information who filled me in on what was really going down.

Although, I could always confess again that I made the whole thing up out of whole cloth off the top of my head if that will make you loons any happier.

Matt Canada....it didn't work out and if the season didn't turn around like it did, it would've cost the HC his job.

I just don't see why people are so quick to rush to judgement on coaches who haven't had the chance to prove they can do or not do the job.

O said 12 months ago that Canada was a great offensive mind and one of the best OC in college football, but now he is saying a guy who hadn't been hired as a OC in 20 years is better?

That should tell anyone not brain dead all we need to know about the value of O's opinion.

As to Aranda, the guy was finishing college the last time E called a fricking play.

LSU has a AD, HC, and OC no other college would have hired for the positions they now own at LSU.

Unless God reaches down and places LSU on his shoulders, we are fricked as far as being a real player in college football.
