Underwhelming/ Bad hire is real close like real close. Get vocal if you want to avoid this!

This distinction needs fo be made.
Bottomline is LSU fan base want the young gun that is fast tracking.
Ensminger and Sullivan are NOT bad hires!!! They would just be underwhelming for a fan base that want the hot shot.
I would not protest this hirer but will not be happy. However, O’s would have even less rope.
This would be a safe hire for O. O cannot afford fo whiff twice. This hire would not be a whiff. It would basically ensure O did not decline further. If a young gun comes in and whiffs, everyone is gone!
It is really risk vs reward plan. Seem like failing to go for it on 4th and an inch. O’s logic was not wrong, just not the best choice. If D stops ND, then people will shut up, but because they didnt the backlash was really bad. This situation seems similar. If it works people will be content but if the offense falterings at all, The mob is comming.

Yeah, they are.
Ensminger hasnt been an OC in 20 years. Sullivan is ancient and doesn't have the luxury of a good young up-and-comer like Meatball + the Head Coach being a DL coach.
Sullivan to WR coach is an absolute DISASTER.

Promoting Ensminger is absolutely the most dangerous hire O could recommend.
It shows he can't surround himself with elite talent. He's a below-average HC that is now hiring below-average coordinators and promising a championship based on wishes (and the skills of Dave Aranda thrown in).
This is the very definition of the failure of his stated vision and process. If this happens, he needs to go. If Alleva allows this to happen, he needs to go, too.

Do you know Steve? The guy is brilliant. Just because you choose not be an OC doesn’t mean you cant.
Steve does know his stuff. It would be interesting to see how Steve runs his O with full autonomy and a year to prep.
There is just nothing to provide evidence to calm the masses.

If O performs like this year again he should be fired. Miles was fired for failing to put LSU in championship contention. E will not put LSU back on that track. O promised to hire the best, and he's going back on that after one year.

In order for the program to move forward he may need to be uncomfortable so that we can make changes in the offense in a big way.
It seems to me Coach O is content with 9 maybe 10 wins and finishing second and third maybe 4th every year in the West.
Look he's got money in the bank it's time to rock and roll and do whatever it takes to win big or just concede that he's not a championship coach.
If he's in it to be comfortable then he's not our guy that's a selfish thinking approach.

Even if you don't get it, the probability of a team getting points when starting a drive on their own 1 inch line is really low.
