Espn has done a top 10 list. And it takes tens and tens of millions to get on it. Just face it. When a&m says "we need 3+million to offer aranda" they have guys in the fricking room who say "done deal". LSU doesn't have a guy or a small group of guys who are going to guarantee those types of numbers. LSU relies on countless smaller donations to TAF. Unfortunately, you can't negotiate very well when you don't have the guarantees up front.

Many of you seem to struggle with the difference between being a wealthy alumni and a booster. They are not one in the same!

You’re wrong. Dead wrong. If it wouldn’t cost me my job, I’d prove it.

Stephens Disaster Management Institute at LSU’s namesake, nevermind Tom Bernhard...they both laugh their asses off at you saying that they dont have megabucks and don’t spend on athletics.

Bernhard in particular was ready to put serious jack down on Jimbo.

So will someone please tell OP to STFU.

First of all, his name is Jim Bernhard and he's worth about the same as most big time boosters donate in one time gifts so

James Bernhard Jr. was our biggest booster, not sure if he's been surpassed. Sporting News put together an article listing cumulative private donations for 2016...

Texas A&M University, $66,987,139

University of Oregon, $53,698,089

University of Michigan, $51,717,862

University of Texas, $42,234,883

Texas Christian University, $38,319,614

Kansas State University, $34,369,836

Auburn University, $31,739,556

University of Washington, $30,730,210

University of Notre Dame, $30,461,237

University of Kansas, $28,934,681

You have no idea what you are talking about. LSU has boosters just like any big football school.

I also think that it is to LSUs benefit that we aren't controlled by a few major boosters. Too many people in control, especially with the heir own money at risk, will equal chow for something they don't actually have any control of.

It's truly amazing how stupid you guys are. In the OP, I literally said that LSU relies on many smaller donations instead of big time money from a select few boosters. Then you come in here and tell me I'm wrong because LSU has a bunch of small time boosters and isn't controlled by a select few. Good god, it's abundantly clear that most of y'all have never even sniffed a college classroom

I'd bet LSU doesn't even have a top 50 booster in college athletics

They have some that could be, but for whatever reason they don’t pony up for the athletic department.

And then I said that every one on this website that donates to TAF for their tickets is a "booster"
Don't try and start a debate over the semantics, you're an idiot

Bernard sold Shaw for 3.3 billion (LSU Alum) is very active with LSU. He still owns Epic with locations in Houston and Livingston. He qualifies as a mega booster.Offered to buy Les out himself 3 years ago.

He owns more then that now. He owns brown and root which is over a lot more smaller companies.
