For a casual meal go to Pepperfire Hot Chicken and get the Applejack.

Second the poster that recommended Five Points Pizza. Whole area has a cool vibe. I would not recommend Martins. Had the whole hog plate and was very underwhelmed. I live outside of Nashville. The food here is average at best. Nothing compares to NOLA.

no no and no.

go one block west to belmont blvd and hit martins.

far better food, cheaper and they don't run out of brisket every day at 1145am like edleys.

the martins downtown sucks. they cant afford the rent and so they cut way back on the meat.

the one on belmont is the best BBQ place in the area hands down. and you should be getting the brisket, not the pig. you can get pig anywhere in town, its hard to find properly smoked brisket.

i would have agreed with you 20 years ago, but that has changed dramatically.

and you really cant compare any other city to NOLA..not a fair comparison because the food there is unlike anything else.

Unless you are just a glutton for punishment do not let anyone talk you into Prince's Hot Chicken or any one else's hot chicken for that matter.

I don't understand how any one finds that crap appetizing.

I like spicy food but stuff is nothing but heat and no flavor.

you're spoiled; used to popeyes spicy/flavor.

i agree with you up to a point; but if you want to try the hot chicken without the hassle/2 hour wait, hit Bishop's in cool springs..its a meat+3 but they own hattie-Bs so you can get the same hot chicken there anytime you want with virtually no wait ever.

Cancel Husk. Try Rolf & Daughters, Lockeland Table, or Josephines as a better version of Husk.

For lunch, try Butchertown Hall, Martin’s on Belmont, or Rosepepper Cantina.

For drinks, go to the rooftop bar in your hotel, hit up Patterson House, or one of about 5 breweries within walking distance of the Thompson.

Can’t go to Nashville without trying their hot chicken. I went to Hattie B’s Hot Chicken and thought it was good.

Pinewood Social Club is unique. Check it out

I have a conference next week in Nashville, and Pinewood Social looked like a different kind of place. I don't get the budget for a place like Kayne. Would PS work to take three clients out? It'd be a group of five of us. We won't really be talking much shop, just enjoying the atmosphere, and getting drunk together.

A few people on here talked down on Husk. We went for brunch and it was fantastic. One of the best burgers I've ever had.

We went a few months ago, Husk is very overrated.

We enjoyed Adeles more than any other place we went for a nice meal.

Biscuit Love is one of those places with a long line, that you think theres no way its going to be worth it, but it is, its fantastic.

If you are into beer bars The Hop Stop is awesome, little uber ride but totally worth it. We spent an entire afternoon there.

The HQ beercade also has a great tap list downtown and has a bunch of darts, pool tables and bar games. It was our goto late night place.

We also randomly had a lot of fun at the escape room downtown if your looking for something to do after a day of day drinking.

I don't recall anywhere else we went being memorable enough to recommend.

Edit to add: Again if you're into beer check out the Bearded Iris brewery, cool large tasting room and awesome beers.
