I'm 37 and have started to notice very slight hair thinning on the crown of my head. I want to get ahead of it and stop further loss if I can. What is the best solution to stop further hair loss and possibly regrow some hair? I would prefer to not take pills with side effects. I've heard the shampoo Nizoral, which is for dandruff, can block DHT. Thank you for any tips.

Started thinning at 24ish, Just shave with no guard at 31. Everything you can do has a side effect of some sort. I took the pills and they made my nuts hurt to the point of going to a doctor and that was the last time I cared. Realized it's not that big of a deal and moved on with my life.

Get generic proscar and take quarter of it a day and stops it in it's tracks

Shave it or go surgical hair replacement.

I did the medication and it slowed it, but you still look like you are losing hair.

From what I understand, propecia will actually stop it in its tracks. Personally, I don't like taking drugs in perpetuity - who knows what the hell it can do to you. I think dark liquors also promote hair loss - so stick to tequila, gin and vodka.

No such thing as stopping hair loss. Either surgery or comb over. Learn how to deal with going bald.
