Have you ever tried to watch one of your "seasoned" workers try to do anything on a computer? I swear, it about makes my head explode when I have to sit and watch some old fogey try to hook up a projector to a laptop.
These old fricks bitch about the younger generation spending time on their phone instead of working when it takes them 2 hours on a computer to do what that youngster can do in 15 min.

People have always fricked around at work. You think you and your group worked a solid day, everyday, and didn't dick around while there...I bet you still do. Hold that mirror up to yourself on a daily basis and be honest with what you see.
The freshest crop of workers just have new methods of dicking off...
Also, are you there manager? If so, then why aren't you doing more to keep them engaged in the work and focused on the task at hand?

It sounds like you are a manager in the fast food industry. Yes, service sucks now at those places.

Oh, is this the bash millenials thread to respond to the bash baby boomers thread?
As a proud Gen Xer, let me say baby boomers fricking suck

Hey now you can't question the work ethic of millenials around here. It's all the fault of boomers and the Xers like myself.
If they would have been given a better work environment, they would be working harder.

Well, as a GenX'er, and one that deals with this type of stuff on a daily basis...what you said is true. Not only is it true for millennials, but every other group, as well.

This is why I’m so grateful I telecommute.
So many people in office environments who don’t even work directly with you seem to always have an opinion on what you’re doing during your workday.

No, I was just asking an introspective question.

What does it matter what they do while they're waiting for the fries to be ready? Why don't you leave them alone and do your job, like get that damn ice cream machine working!

From what I've seen, with how technology is today...What a 55 year old does in 2 hours, a 30 year old can get done in 30 minutes.

It's the week between December 25 holiday and New year's, nobody's doing shite this week.

guess these questions are for the "seasoned" group, but is the incompetence of workers getting worse than say, 20 years ago? Or am I just getting older & starting to be more cognizant of it now?
That’s cute, Sharon. Don’t ask us to help you next time you need to rotate a pdf or present a slideshow.
