It's the week between December 25 holiday and New year's, nobody's doing shite this week.

Except for the office busybodies. They’re working overtime this week.

Buddy of mine is an IT manager. He has 6 openings right now and can't find anyone worth a damn.

He wonders how the hell these people are doing their jobs now.

Have you ever tried to watch one of your "seasoned" workers try to do anything on a computer?

Lol! Old frick here. I love how some of you younger guys act as though you invented computers and the Internet. Guess what? I took programming at LSU back in the 70s. I installed computers at all the locations of a place I worked at back in 1980. I sat my millenial son on my lap when he was a toddler and taught him how to operate computers, and showed him the Internet before "WWW" even existed. I helped him build his first computer back around 2002.

Not bashing millennials, just saying not all of you are not experts working with technology, and not all us old guys are clueless.

From what I've seen, with how technology is today...What a 55 year old does in 2 hours, a 30 year old can get done in 30 minutes.

I'm 42 and we'll see about that fairly soon. I will be retiring within 2 years and then I expect to see the economy skyrocket due to the productivity of millenials.

Besides engineers, IT people are probably the worst hiring managers out there. They all think they're the best and nobody can do it better, so they set these hiring bars that are impossible to achieve. At some point, your buddy will quit or get fired because he does all the work himself, will get burned-out, frick something up, etc.

As a proud Gen Xer,

What the frick? How little have you accomplished in life to take pride in the year you were born?

You didn't take a test or meet any requirement, you just fell out of a vagina in a certain window of time.

If you're proud of a label given to you by sociologist hacks, then you need to examine yourself as a person. That's fricking pathetic.

On first glance I read this as "workplace impotence". I was intrigued.

Now, not so much.
