Is the sky really falling at LSU Football?

#1 Canada is still here as far as I know!
#2 I hope he stays and everything I have read here is BS about him being gone after the Citrus Bowl.
#3 I don't have a dog in the hunt.
However let's just say the rumors are true & LSU/CEO hires Ensminger after the game. Is that really that bad? LSU broke several offensive records last year with Ensminger as OC in 8 games. When you look at his career you "can" compare him to a former SEC HC. This particular HC was also a qb in college. He had humble beginnings starting as an offensive assistant and eventually becoming a HC. He won 6 SECC & 1 Natty for the Gaytors Sir Steve LINK Spurrier. You can even compare their first names...lol beat you to it mf's.
Anyway looking over Ensminger's resume LINK in short "Ensminger has been OC at several stops and coached a first round QB while at Auburn. He has coached QB's, WR's, TE's ect." He seamlessly moved into the OC positon when called upon last season. These things considered I don't have the same the sky is falling attitude providing Ensminger is hired. Ensminger has worked with the current players & LSU for years. He recruited several as well even in next seasons group. Last I checked continuity wasn't a bad thing.

Couldn't you have just put this in the Ensminger thread?

Whoever is telling you the sky is falling.......... Well, I suggest not talking to them any more.

LSU has the "catastrophe syndrome" Saban used to refer to it

Nobody is indicating the sky is falling. We had a pretty nice season, yes. But no, hell no, Ensminger was not a good O.C. He was fired twice in his past from that position. He's a good coach and good recruiter, sure, but you have to have a special knack for calling plays. Ensminger is not cut out for it, no siree.

People like drama. They'll freak out regardless of what happens

I like Ensminger and think he would do a great job as OC but comparing him to the HBC? yeah you lost me there.

Sure, he broke records but against piss poor defenses

Here's the thing. Ensminger is a good coach, but he's not relevant as an OC. Sure he COULD fill in, but if anyone had their choice of retaining Ensminger in his current role alongside Canada, Briles, Freeze, Sarkesian, or even Chow as OC vs. just having Ensminger as an OC they'd choose the former.
And while one outcome is certainly vastly preferential to the other, neither outcome (in and of itself) represents a "sky is falling" scenario.
However, replacing Canada with Ensminger reeks of laziness and desperation and if that type of administration continues to infect the program, then yes, the sky is definitely falling.

How did he do against Bama and Florida?
The other teams couldn’t stop the run. Hell even Florida couldn’t stop the run, and he still only put up 10 points.
No thanks.

Thread hijack:
I'm going to stop watching the Alabama game. I think my LSU season will be more enjoyable without having to deal with an automatic L.

I asked Chicken Little and he said NO. However Coach O did say both coordinators stayed home to game plan (NSD came in the middle of bowl practice) and indicated he was very happy with the offense this year. He also stated, as the
Head Coach, he wanted the offense the way he wanted it. Again, it’s his head on the chopping block so I can’t fault him there. O could survive replacing an
OC or two, but if O goes, so does Canada. I think you had a couple of long time coaches who some differences in opinion at a very stressful time for the team and that sent the Internet searching for any signs of trouble

Yea I hated when he kept turning the ball over in the red zone. LSU coaches are in a no win with a lot of the fan base. The games they win, all you read is those teams suck, good offensive games, are only because those defenses suck. We lose it's only because LSU sucks. We win we have great cordinators, we lose Ogeron is calling all the plays. It was the same thing with Les, that's why our coaches don't give a frick about what the fan base thinks.
