I bolded it in the quote for you. I’m sure it was just an oversight, but Clancy Barone was the “super bowl winning O-line coach” for the team and year you were implying.

Bad example. We never even offered Corral. Baldwin either.

The poster quoted Dandy's site stating that Canada was indeed recruiting. I don't think he was using Corral as any kind of example. You totally missed the point. The meeting with Canada is probably why LSU didn't offer.

As the Head Coach everything falls on your shoulders - win or lose. That said, he should be able to determine who works for him and who doesn't. Many factors go into those decisions including whether or not the person is a good fit with your organization. Hires can be akin to wives - you really don't know what you have until the paper is signed and they lived with you for a bit. Canada's schemes have worked in some places, but this is the first time such have gone against SEC competition. Also, I have trouble subscribing to Oregeon being a total doofus on offense. In order to coach one side of the ball you need to know something about the other side of the ball. Yesh, he may have fricked up his first HC job, but someone saw enough in him to make him interim HC at So. Cal, and he didn't do bad. Learning from failures builds character and hopefully you don't repeat the same mistakes. That said, Ed O is human. Support the program and let him succeed or fail on his own merits. He's doing a hell of a lot better than most of us would.

Bringing the truth bombs. Those old guys always seem to cut right to the heart of the matter.

Well said, Sir.

Fake news. You are gullible. Did you read that on the Rant?

why the shite did Orgeron hire him to begin with?

Because he was the only offensive Broyles Award finalist. Also because the recruits - namely the QB's were getting cold feet before signing day not knowing who the LSU OC would be.

I do want Canada to stay because I do think he can improve the offense given more time. He's just gone from being "offensive savior" to a "decent OC". Maybe that changes year 2. I hope so.

I agree. My concern is that his departure is inevitable. I think he is either gone now or after next season. If so, I’d much rather he leave now, and LSU hire someone that will be around for the next 3 or 4 years.

This is stupid.

He's been involved with football and coaching all of his life. Would you actually expect an insurance adjuster or banker or retail manager to actually do better?
The fact that he's doing better than "MOST" of us would (your words, not mine) isn't a glowing endorsement.

I didn't read that as he is doing better than most of us so be satisfied. I read it as post of the rant posters are dumb, and don't know what they are talking about.

You're not doing your boss any favors by suggesting this was his primary reason for hiring Canada.

If Canada is gone, fired or just moving on, it will be his 7th school in 9 yrs. Yet, this is Coach O's fault according to the haters. The man obviously has issues.

no one is at fault, O wants us to run USC’s offense and Canada wants to run his version. O should have hired a Former USC OC instead of Canada.

I still think we find out some day that Alleva forced Canada on O which reflects poorly on the AD and HC.

Aranda has moved around more than Canada. Does he have issues too?
