How much of that is people knowing who Matt Lauer is and not giving AF about some teacher named Samantha Ciotta, vs one being a man and the other being a woman?

I agree that there is a double standard, but people want to bring down a celebrity, not a no one. I'm sure the people in the community care, but not the nation at large

I would agree if ML wasn't being used as some sort of example that typifies men in general. These incidents aren't made to be a big deal because of the specific sexes of the perpetrators and the victims ("victims").

It’s a combination of being a celebrity and a man. Surely you’ve seen the footage of Hoda groping the Tongan Olympic guy. No one gives a shite. Had a male been super handsy with a female athlete he would’ve been fired that day.

The other big thing that, rightly, took down Matt Lauer, is that he's a "liberal" and he preaches women's rights, and all the other feminist talking points for a living. He did a scathing, accusatory interview with Bill O'Reilly, while he (Lauer) had been or was at the time, committing his abuses.

O'Reilly's crimes are still not totally confirmed. Yes he paid out, but his accuser has a history of falsifying accusations, according to all the things I've read. Lauer on the other hand, gets a pass, much like President Clinton did in the court of liberal politician/media opinion.

The real epidemic in this country is 15 y/o dudes ruining the most awesome thing that may ever happen in their entire lives by telling everybody.

There are anywhere from dozens to hundreds of teachers committing statutory rape every year and no one says shite, yet Matt Lauer gets axed because he's trying to hit on women and that's being decried as "a man abusing his power" (but that same standard isn't applied to these whores).
To be fair, men, in general, have no problem with women being whores and just wish they'd be whores with them as well

No way that wedding dress wasn’t from David’s bridal and wasn’t on the $99 sale rack.

She is fired and arrested. She does receive the same public shaming because she is a nobody.

My point is that these incidents aren't aggregated together and turned into a movement like the #metoo witch hunt has. And this is a lot more serious than most of those cases. It's all because the perpetrators are female and the victims are male.
