I member back when TFA came out. I member everyone insisted that Rey's parents had to be some big important thing. I member the constant barrage of downvotes I got when I claimed they were completely inconsequential to the story and that the title "The Force Awakens" pretty much made that obvious. She was a nobody who was force sensitive and her power "awakens" when the galaxy needed it to.

So did you just start this thread to pat yourself on the back?

Congrats.

Btw, when it’s revealed that Kylo Ren (The most trust-worthy human in the galaxy) was lying will you start a thread and kick yourself in the nuts?

Sure. But he wasn't. And they are still insignificant.

People built it up. It happens.

Maz told her she knew the people who left her weren't coming back.

People thought Vader was lying too. Sure they could change it but I don't think they will.

The force wasn't awakened by Luke in A New Hope? You're trying way too hard. It's cool that you liked it, that's fine. You just liked a shitty movie. It's cool man, I like tons of shitty movies

Are you ok with a nobody being stronger than the Grandson of the person that was born as the human embodiment of the force? Vader is basically force Jesus.

I am not ok with this.

Vader is Force Jesus. There is no doubt about it.

The force is about balance. BALANCE.

Snoke even says it. As you grow stronger, your counterpart in the light will rise.

Come to think of it, the force didn't awaken in the force awakens. If TLJ is accurate, then there was an active jedi school up and running as recently as what 5 or 6 years before the events in TFA?

Plus Kylo used the force throughout, doesn't matter that he turned sith.

Your title argument is really weak

I personally don’t care that much about who Rey’s parents were but there was an entire scene where she asks that dark-side cave to tell her who her parents are and it shows her reflection.

So, unless that didn’t have a secret meaning, why would the cave show her reflection to her?

Also, this is Star Wars. It’s set in a galaxy far, far away...

...where billions upon billions of people are Skywalkers. You see, the original Skywalker man was a pimp and fricked half the galaxy so everybody is related to everyone.

For the record I don't care if Rey's parents are nobody in relation to past characters.

But she needed to have some kind of story there.
Something that explained the build up.
Something that explained her need to know the truth.
Something that possibly explained her being able to do jedi mind tricks with no problem.

Not Rian just saying frick you guys for wanting answers.

Because that was a dumb thing to say if you watched the movie.

What? That says nothing at all other than the force awakens

I took that as the Darkside mirror messing with her. Not telling her the one answer that has torn her apart her entire life can only keep her in turmoil and closer to the darkness.

And yet it still led me to the correct conclusion on Rey's lineage when everyone else said I was wrong.

I think in Lucas' mind, bringing balance to the force simply meant "destroying the Sith."

In the EU, balance was about light and dark equally represented in a single person.

The TLJ interpretation of balance is weird. If the presence of good always leads to the presence of evil, what is the point of any of this?

The broom kid probably doesn't have important parents either. People are force sensitive. When the Jedi Order recognized force sensitive kids they took them to the temple at a very young age. There doesn't have to be a reason for why. It just is. That's how the force works.

Because she is force sensitive...
