Why Won't Trump Release the FISA Warrant Application?

Think about that.
Trumpt and his administration have repeatedly accused the FBI and/or the Obama DOJ of improperly using the "salacious" Steele dossier in order to get the FISA warrant issued and to conduct illegal surveillance on the Trump campaign.
But, even though Trump, as president, can release the warrant application and prove that the FBI and/or OJ acted improperly to have the FISA warrant issued, he has chosen not to. This is spite of the fact that even conservative pundits are calling for Trump to release the FISA information, including staunchly conservative Andrew CMcCarthy, of the National Review.
Could the reason Trump won't release the FISA warrant information be that there was nothing improper about the warrant or how it was issued, and Trump wants to continue to use the warrant accusations to discredit the FBI and DOJ as part of his escalating campaign to justifying the firing of Mueller or Rosenstein.
There's no other logical reason Trump won't release it.

Will he or won’t he?
Will President Trump order the disclosure of any warrant applications to the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court (the FISA Court) in which the Justice Department and FBI presented any information derived from the Steele dossier?
We don’t need to imperil national security. There is no need to disclose the entirety of any application. There is no need to expose intelligence sources or methods of gathering information — they can be redacted. We don’t even need to see any actual application; a declassified summary of the relevant information will do. We just need to know if what administration supporters are saying is true: In seeking surveillance authority on the rationale that Trump associates were acting as agents of a foreign power, did the Justice Department and the FBI present the FISA court with the Steele dossier as if it were a product of U.S. intelligence reporting — rather than what it really was, a political opposition-research product commissioned by the Clinton campaign?.

Ummm...he would be blasted by your side for doing so assuming that he really can release the FISA warrant as you assume.

Presidents have absolute authority to declassify anything

Did the public even know what this was a year ago?
Isn’t everything about FISA top secret? Has a FISA warrant ever been released?

Maybe its because he doesn't want to frick around with evidence that's part of an ongoing investigation?
Maybe he has a department that is responsible for investigations and letting them handle it?
Maybe the time hasn't presented itself yet (waiting for right moment)?
Maybe he has a few million other things on his plate?
Maybe someone in his cabinet recommended he not release it for undisclosed reasons?
Why hasn't he used presidential power to obtain all the sealed Obama documents that were carted off under the guises of "Obama's Presidential LIbrary"?
Could be anything.

I think he'd rather play it like a slow drip as it is now. Death by a 1000 cuts as they say.

He is pretty much "winning" this as it is.
His "ratings" aren't going to improve based upon this release. Hell, he keeps getting CNN, et al, to have to back track on story after story.
He'd be a fool to remove this issue at this point.

Just speculating, but he may be advised by the IC not do do so because other classified information may get released that could harm national security. And if the info gets released with a lot of redacted information the information might not make any sense out of context to the general public.
Have any FISA warrants been declassified by previous presidents?
With that said I'd like to see the FISA warrant declassified.

because that "would be" obstruction of justice unless and untill the SC is dissolved, for now, only mueller is the one who decides to release that or not
nice try though

Why would he release the ace up his sleeve? He knows he has it, but as your post indicates, his enemies don’t know if he’s bluffing or not.

How many Presidents have openly accused the previous administration of illegally spying on them for political purposes?

yeah, me too.

As president, he can declassify and release anything he wants to.
Why would he be blasted for providing that information?
If it's true, it proves his point that the FBI and DOJ have been politicized, and supports his position to stop/cripple the Special Counsel investigation.
Why wouldn't he want that?

So, he's got a smoking gun in his pocket and he just won't use it. Is he going to wait until his son-in-law get indicted?
No. The only reason that makes sense is that there was nothing improper about the FISA warrant.

In your wettest of dreams, what do you think the highest crime committed by Trump wrt the Russians might be??
or any of his campaign organization?

His "ratings" aren't going to improve based upon this release.
Considering the "popular vote" was only 3 million votes difference his ratings will probably never be greater than 50%. It was tight by populace (which was not the election issue since we are not mob rules) so he started at like 49.9% maximum potential rating on 11/10/16.
His ratings waver after that based on the Enemedia and his few mistakes. This is why he will win again if he minimizes mistakes. Getting directly involved with the documents and data involved would probably be too risky.
