We have 2 dogs, a 7 yo basset and a 4 yo adopted mix. About once every 3 months the adopted dog turns violently on the basset. Did it again tonight and, although it was for just a second, drew some blood from her.

Wife (no pics, but hot, trust me) says enough is enough. Though part of me agrees, part of me is torn, because my 10 year old has really taken to the adopted dog. Tries to train her, spends a lot of time with her, and would be heartbroken if we were to get rid of her. Already said tonight, we just need to let them play apart (they sleep and stay in separate areas).

Other than take the collar off, let her run in the woods, and let someone shoot her, WWTOBD?

I’d probably shoot her myself if nobody I knew wanted her.

You could likely bring her back to the adoption place or something if that’s not your speed. Don’t turn the dog loose or drop it off somewhere. It’ll be someone else’s problem that way.

I lost dogs when I was a kid. It sucked, but it’s one of the first ways you learn about suck.

Are there any specific triggers to her turning violent?

Beat the shite out of it if it does it again. If it does after that beat the shite out of it worse than you did the time before. If it does it a third time...pew pew pew.
