re: How do liberals want Trump to react to the lies by the MSM?

quote:I think it's fair to say they are on the extreme end of being biased against Trump to the point where at least some news outlets are getting into the unethical territory, but calling it "lies" is pretty dishonest, especially when every ounce of negative press receives the "fake news" label. I'm all for condemning bad reporting, which is why I don't support the MSM. However, attaching the "fake news" to all inconvenient news/reporting doesn't help Trump IMHO.
But calling the MSM's stories unbiased instead of untrue seems a bit naive, IMO.

The same way that Bush did, by just sitting back and taking it. Acting as if their fake news is real.

quote:Sarah Huckabee Sanders called out the media in her press briefing for intentionally reporting falicious information. When pressed for an example, she cited Brian Ross's reporting, which was subsequently corrected and lead to him being removed from covering the White House and being suspended. How is the average American supposed to react to Sanders's accusation if she cannot cite a better example? I'm not sticking up for the media, but how is Sanders helping Trump by saying making an accusation she cannot back up? It just sounds like complaining.

quote:good, that's exactly what they did
arah Huckabee Sanders called out the media in her press briefing for intentionally reporting falicious information.
quote:no it wasn't, they issued a clarification to their breaking news story after the part that made it breaking news turned out to be false...it took them like 8 hours. that's a retraction, not a clarification.
When pressed for an example, she cited Brian Ross's reporting, which was subsequently corrected
quote:a month off in December...the horror. he should've been fired.
and being suspended.
quote:

they react with approval because that's a great example and it just happened.
quote:yes you are, at no point in this exhausting bad faith exercise on your part have you made one complaint about them airing and publishing fake news, you've repeatedly mischaracterized and defended the example sanders used...you've complained repeatedly about trump and now sanders for saying that fake news is fake news...you're also mischaracterizing her because she backs it up.
I'm not sticking up for the media
quote:because she's casting doubt on a press that shits out anonymously sourced, negative stories about trump...by pointing to a specific example that you somehow think isn't a specific example
how is Sanders helping Trump by saying making an accusation she cannot back up?
quote:i'll defer to your expertise on that subject
It just sounds like complaining.
BTW, you seem to buy the "mistakes happen" defense of brian ross and other people who publish/air fake news...yet interestingly, those same people never use that, and instead call trump a liar every single time. as do you. you're going to realize probably too late that though you don't like trump, you defend the same people and tactics that unwittingly put him in the white house.

And you have yet to prove any actual lies that are damaging to our democracy.
The temper tantrum by the left for the past year, the riots, the violence, the protests, the "not my president " bullshite, the divisiveness in this country is all on the media and their lies about Trump.
Trump was given awards by the NAACP years ago, now he's a racist white supremacist. Trump is pro gay marriage, but the left and media portray him as a gay bashing homophobe who's going to put gays in camps.
The bullshite "Russian collusion and hacking the election" is being pushed by the media to undermine the support for Trump by the public by portraying him as an illegitimate president so he can either be impeached or lose his bid for reelection.
The divisiveness and discord in the country today is a direct result of the media's outright slander and lies about Trump.

His tweets have already been used against him in court.

Trump brings up Hillary and Obama every chance he gets. He knows they are hated by his base. It's not the other way around.
Hillary is constantly attacking him still, and just last week Obama literally called him Hitler.
Go frick yourself dude, nobody's buying your bullshite.

Brian Ross lied on purpose and has a history of lying on purpose to try to slip shite by then falling back to "Oh it was a mistake" when he gets caught.
There is no better example of a malicious liar in the press.

You are the most naive person on earth if you belive they would stop the lies, deceit, and attacks on him if he stopped tweeting.

What are you referring to? Fox News? They rarely have to retract anything. Now if you're speaking of Infowars or some bullshite, that's comparing apples and oranges to say a CNN/ABC.

What should he do when blatant lies are reported about him in the media?
Just because someone says something negative about Donald Trump, that doesn't automatically mean they are lying.
I know this is a really difficult concept for some of you, but I promise it's true.

Putting words in my mouth
Of course a lot of the media is biased against a Trump but:
A. He brings a lot of it on himself, and
B. Some on the right use it as a crutch so they can continue to play the victim and cry media bias even when legitimate points are brought up against your "team"

Of course not. The issue is that when there's blood in the water, the media goes into a frenzy to go on a million different tangents to take said negative story and force it to fit in ever missing piece of every puzzle. They're so overzealous to bury Trump that they use the shotgun effect to the point where people tune it out as white noise.
