1.5 million a year plus no charge and all you can eat at TCoon's plus endless supply of Boudin balls from Billy's in Scott.......and that's just the first month. If he survives that, Veron's is kicking in monthly restocks of his industrial freezer

Good point......get him a cool suit like the Nascar drivers.
He did survive Oklahoma and Kansas summers....and those can be very rough

why in the hell would Canada take a pay cut, for a dead end job
He may take a small pay cut if he is absolutely dead set on becoming a head coach next season. If there is any truth to the issues between him and O, then add that to the list of reasons.
As far as the dead end job, I'm certain every coach interested in the job would ever feel like they can't make it NOT a dead end job. Its not in the personality of a coach to feel that way, otherwise they wouldnt be coaching. Add on top of that the decent facilities at ULL, the fertile recruiting grounds, and it should be interesting to any coach looking to get a start.
The New Orleans bowl and a Sun Belt title every so often is the ceiling for ULL. Hud took them almost to the ceiling, but didnt leave when he should have.
Every ULL fan should be hoping that the coach they hire gets hired away within 4-5 years. That means they were successful. Then you look to replace them with another up and comer. ULL will never have the coach who stays for 20 years, and brings them tons of titles and bowl wins. The best they can hope for is to become viewed across the nation as a good place to coach and build your resume. That keeps the program successful, asses in the seats and $$$ flowing into the program. If they are able to reach those heights, then they can start talking about moving to a conference that's actually relevant.

How often is ESPN and other sports media interested in high school and community college hires?

Ben Love of 103.7 The Game reporting he's hearing the final three candidates are Todd Orlando, Sonny Cumbie, and Kevin Sumlin.

They were down to two final candidates on Saturday. I'd assume that means either Cumbie or Orlando
ETA: Assuming his list has any legitimacy at all

Orlando is the DC at Texas. Cumbie is the OC at TCU.

So two of the three that my sauce’s sauce said we the finalists.
My sauce checked with his sauce again and his sauce is saying Brett Pry and Sumlin are both still in play and announcement maybe pushed to Wednesday.

It's not as bad as Meachem's decision but he might want to wait it out.

Heard they wanted Dykes, but will fall to Cumbie.

From what I am hearing, Kevin Sumlin put out a list of salary demands. From that point our AD went to the RCAF to gauge our ability to meet his request.
Apparently the money is there and we are awaiting his decision.
