Warren Moon sued for sexual harassment by assistant at his sports marketing firm

Hall of Fame quarterback Warren Moon has been accused of sexual harassment and sexual battery in a lawsuit filed by a female employee of his sports marketing firm and will take a leave of absence from his role on Seattle Seahawks radio broadcasts.

Moon denied the allegations in a text to Seattle's KING 5 TV, according to on-air host Paul Silvi. KING also employs Moon as part of its Seahawks coverage.

The Seahawks released a statement Wednesday saying the team has accepted Moon's request for a leave. The statement did not list a reason.

The lawsuit was filed Monday in Orange County Superior Court in California. Wendy Haskell said that Moon made "unwanted and unsolicited" sexual advances toward her while she was working for Sports 1 Marketing as Moon's assistant. The lawsuit lists Moon as president and co-owner of the Irvine, California-based company.

How are we supposed to know the shite's unwanted till we try?

ETA: of course, I usually err on the side of it isn't wanted with me. What with history and life experience being what they are.

Since when is sports marketing not about sex?

Next thing you know the trade show booth attendants will be suing the sponsors, followed by the Grand Isle Tarpon Rideo boat dancers suing Bridgeside Marina.

Why go on more than one trip?
Why take the job?
Why sleep in the same room? More than once?

WTF kind of job did she accept?

Basically, WTF?

This is why you hire ugly assistants. Hiring girl in the OP as your assistant is asking for trouble when you inevitably make a move.

Translation: He asked her out on a date / made a pass at her, which in today's environment equals lawsuit if the girl does not find the guy sexually appealing.

It definitely sounds like he crossed the line. It also sounds like his business had a pretty distinct party culture. How do you tolerate something as inappropriate as sharing a room, sleeping in the same bed, giving him access to the bathroom while showering, etc... if you aren't fully aware and accepting of what you signed up for?

The only problem that I have with a lot of these situations is that they're surfacing so late in the process. Yeah, it doesn't make them less valid but is it that they are now feeling safe enough to be brave and strong to come forward? Or are they being opportunistic knowing that the climate is ripe for settlements? The cynic in me says it's the latter.

can't blame him.

Still, if true, shame on him.
