Maybe try responding to my arguments instead of insulting me

Where have I insulted you? I have not yet. If you want me to sure I can. But this firing was an emotion firing not a fact firing. You accepted the firing which by your post you agree with.

I also said I understood the firing, but I do not agree with it.

So if Morris goes 6-6 next year will that be acceptable?

Is that a serious question? We thought Bert was great after 6-6 in year 2.

It is a serious question to the other poster because 7-5 would have gotten Bret fired next year if he had kept the job. But would 6-6 be enough for Morris.

I feel some around here (not this site but in the town I am in) think he is going 8-4 easily.

Well, 2 of the 4 wins were without Ragnow and Allen

Next year arky would have been the premier job open in the sec. Dictating the market and getting top pick from the next batch of coaches

Yes, after his 6th year.

Not everyone would be thrilled but I think a majority would be fine with it. Hard to answer that question without getting all context though.

Morris? I havn't seen any of that but I don't doubt some homers think that. Seems like I have seen 5-7 wins for most people.

I get that and they were Ole Miss and Coastal

But when they started losing the top Offensive guys and then had to move Ragnow over to cover issues up due to injuries, there is nothing you can do.

The FAMU game I get it people were mad they looked bad, then TCU people thought they would win, but injuries started then and you can not replace guys that easily.

Again I understand the firing, I just think it was a bad deal and made off emotion not facts.

Next year, there wouldn't have been any butts in the seats, so why delay the inevitable?

Bert went:
0-5 vs. Texas A&M
1-4 vs. Mississippi State
1-3 vs. Missouri

A collective 2-12 against A&M, State, and Mizzou is unacceptable. Realistically, if he's .500 in those games, we probably aren't even having this discussion.

It was time.

You can never predict whenever there's a lot of openings or not. Coaching mill churns quick. Who would've thought FSU and Oregon would've been open before this season?

Fire coaches when they deserve to be fired. Hire the best candidate to replace them.

The stadium would’ve been fricking empty next year if they didn’t fire Bielema. He completely lost the fanbase after the TCU game

Based off the expectations he built from a healthy team. The TCU game turned out to be not as bad as people originally thought. I get it, you can not lose at home like he did to Tech and TCU. But when looking back at the losses they are as bad as people made them out to be.

Again, realistically which loss was one (other than aTm) was one they should have won?

Only one I can think of is Tech 2015. There is no way coming off that season before and the beating they put on Tech in Lubbock they should lose that game.

Mizzou this year, no way they should have been in it.

Mizzou on the road, okay possible but its still a road SEC game and MU was in shambles (so more I think yes I will give you that one)

Rutgers in NJ, no he was playing AJ Derby at QB

aTm losses were flukes and just zany, no matter if you won or lost. I get losing big leads soured the base, but that is what aTm does, score off big plays.

so here we're my problems with bert and why I think it was time

5 years down the road with a coach still had major depth issues. most positions had 1 guy thst was good to great and a bunch of other guys that didn't know the playbook, couldn't hack it athletically, or were inexplicably benched and never used even as an attempt to get better.

we routinely wouldn't get enough recruits or as many as we wanted/needed because of recruiting with no backup plan.

terrible time management honestly not sure Bert can even read a digital clock. him and Les went to same time management classes it appears in coaching school.

star playmakers would emerge then be benched or sit out entire games often. players begging for a chance at Times because he would rather play an injured junior o linemen getting worked than a promising freshman.

trash talk is fun when you're winning....looks pathetic as you get blown out yearly.

terrible record against conference bottom dwellers.

we got less phycial as time went on as well....for a power run team this shouldn't happen.

I would even blame our talent pool but we're putting kids in the NFL at a decent clip so talent is there. also his recruiting rankings are as good or better than every other Arkansas coach

terrible strength and conditioning program where a kid came in fast and we added 30 pounds and didn't think running was important. always the worn out team on the field in the 4th.

which led to us being a terrible second half team.

hated his defense of wait and react. it was like watching Rob Smith or willy Rob pt2.

The coaching that was on display during the Coastal Carolina game (our backups should have handled that easily) is what finished Bert.

Mizzou 2016 and VT 2016 immediately come to mind

Arky gonna pay 2 coaches and get the same result. Unless they could hire Saban or belichick, how can they possibly think they have a chance to do anything?

think of it more as refinancing. Chad Morris may not do any better but long run it was cheaper to buyout Bert and pay Chad vs keeping Bert.

Wouldn't the inflated market value carry over into next year?
