You should have kept bert for one more year and not given up on him during the season. Faced with competition among the sec this year, you could have held serve for one more season and had the pick of the litter for the SEC. Also, the drastic rise in market value this year potentially caught the hogs off guard. Add in the fat buyout (pun intended), and you end settling for morris.

I do not think Bret should have been fired either, but certain people did. I am not happy about Morris, but it was a great hire.

This has been said a lot but who was taken that we would have gotten this yet?

There wasn't enough food in the state for him to coach another year.....

Name another team in the SEC that would have fared better with losing 7 of top 10 players and best
QB
OL
WR
DL
RB
LB

for over 4 games each?

Bret Bielema did a hell of a job this year considering. I think he earned next year, now if he came back and went 7-5 next year, then you make a move. But this year was not on him. Plus he had increased the win total yearly and upgraded the bowl yearly. The Tech game though was hard to look past.

I understand the firing, just do not think it was a good move. Top that off with stealing a coach from one of my 4 schools, yeah I may go have another PTSD fit again.

We almost went 2-10. Stop. We were clearly a bad team even before the injuries piled up.

He had done nothing in 5 years. It was time to move on.

Even when we were relatively healthy at the start of the season, we still looked sloppy as hell. I was only off his train this year. Gave him a pass on the other things the years before.

But they didn't. So if Morris goes 6-6 next year will that be acceptable? Because it is not going to be as easy as you think the transition.

Look who they had to play within the division, they lost to teams all ranked in top 25 at the time they played. Lost to TCU who ended up playing for a title.

What game realistically should Arkansas won that they did not other than aTm? That was the game they lost their best WR and QB got hurt initially.

Yes, I know they didn't. However, you shouldn't be a hair's breadth away from going 2-10 in year 5. Besides, the fans had checked out. You don't recover from losing the fan base like he did.

I'm just in wait and see mode right now. I haven't called it a home run hire like I've seen some people do but I'm excited about his Texas recruiting ties and what he'll do on offense. Waiting to see who he gets as DC. We've got a budget of 1.5 million so I'm expecting a name guy.

Look at the South Carolina game and try to tell me that wasn't a bad team. We didn't belong on the field with a meh SC team.

Also, Austin getting hurt is completely Bert and the OL's fault. He got pummeled for a year and a half. Everyone knew it was going to happen eventually.

He also completely mismanaged the end of the Missouri game, and should never have lost to them in 2016 either.

Sure you do, the program recovered from a purposeful attack by Stephens Media to get Gus in as HC a decade ago. They had recovered from a philandering HC 5 years ago. They recovered from Jack losing to the Citadel 2 decades ago.

You are making excuses because you thought it was the right thing to do based off emotion not facts.
