If you take the story at face value - and I think it's reasonable to be skeptical - let's be real - it had everything to do with not looking the part of first class. Being black and dressed the way he was the reason she confronted him. Again, that's if the story is true as told.
It appears he was quite a dick as well though, even in his retelling of the story.

I saw this shite yesterday on Reddit. If he wouldn't have included that "everyone else in line clapped" I may have believed this bullshite, made up story. Doesn't look like that woman is concerned about him at all, and it looks like there's nobody else in line behind her. SO WHO ELSE CLAPPED THEN!?

If this was the massive showdown that he claims it was, she wouldn't just chill behind him and there'd be some commotion surrounding the two. This reeks of bullshite, and the fact that an alleged one-on-one incident at an airport gate is such huge news shows the lack of actual racism in America.
Someone taking a retarded guess at you being in the wrong line is the worst you got? Cool. They're murdering each other over race in a good portion of the world.
