While responding to the USPS thread I got a text about another package from UPS being delayed. Maybe once every six months I have a package come a day late from UPS and although I bought, even more, stuff online last year during this time everything came on time.

I ordered about a dozen items between Black Friday and Cyber Monday and they were shipped in 9 packages. The text message I just got means that ALL 9 packages have been at least 2 days late and others as many as 5 days late and counting. I think there have been 5 or 6 different reasons. None of them were shipped the same day from the same place either.

Anyone else seeing this sort of issue?

Yes.

Not terrible surprising for this time of year, really.

I dont know why they'd be delivering so late. It's not like it's around a major gift giving holiday or anything.

UPS probably pulled an American Airlines and gave their employees time off

I think there is something pretty big around the 25th of this month.

Yes. It's the holidays.

Anyone remember when UPS went on strike in the late 90's? I ordered something a day or two before the strike. It lasted like 6 months. My package finally arrived when they went back to work. It was hunting stuff and it was June.

Now that's a late package.

Christmas season. I’ll sometimes see them delivering at 9 and 10pm.

Yes. I ordered something from Amazon with one-day shipping last week; package was supposed to be delivered Friday, Dec. 1. It still hasn't arrived. Meanwhile, I re-ordered the same item from Amazon on Saturday using regular free Prime shipping and it got here yesterday through the USPS. (Amazon issued me a refund for the overnight shipping fee + a free month of Prime, but it really was UPS' fault for losing/sitting on my package.)

Someone told me that they heard UPS was moving their distribution center in Baton Rouge to someplace near Industriplex and that's why packages are being delayed around here. if true; seems like a really stupid time to do that.

All I know is my package supposedly went through Port Allen, then to BR, NOLA, back to Port Allen and this message showed up in tracking: "Possible delay in delivery due to arrival at incorrect carrier facility". No shite.
