Seinfeld, arguably the greatest sitcom of all time had a laugh track, as did That 70’s Show, Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, and Married With Children. It wasn’t until Malcom and the Middle and the 2000’s NBC comedies like The Office, Community, and Scrubs that comedies without laugh tracks started to become more popular and more common.

LAME! The Ranch was the funniest show on Netflix.

I had a feeling it wasn't going to last long for one reason or another.
Main reason they went after Masterson is because The Ranch triggers the frick out of the left.
They hate the fact that there is a comedy on TV that showcases small town/rural lifestyle and the men are men and the women are women. That type of TV show is dangerous in 2017.
There was a pretty good article about how Kutchner and Masterson had wanted to the show for a while but networks wouldn't touch it. Finally Netflix came along and gave them an opportunity.

I do not ... object ... to laugh tracks, per se. I would prefer a live studio audience, sure. (Yeah, buddy, I'm old, wanna fight about it?)
Now for the third time -

Chuck Lorre-style, over-the-top laugh track
I can't make it any more clear than that. I even like some moments on BBT, FWIW.

True. These are all ‘multi-cam sitcoms’. And it’s not a laugh track. They film THE RANCH in front of a live studio audience.

The Scientology thing is why any of this is coming up now, a decade since the alleged stuff. These girls are trying to take down Scientology lead by
leah remini. She was a full on Scientologist and now is gonna try to make money by tearing them down on her new show.
The scientology show has been going on for a while now, however the #metoo stuff is happening right now. Seems like that's why it's coming out now to me

Why would they mix the audience so loud? They turned a strength into a weakness, IMHO. (And maybe they're adding canned laughter post production - I can't imagine an audience being that obnoxious for the content.)
(Honestly, call me traumatized by Lorre, but when I watched a few minutes of The Ranch, I immediately checked to see if it was Lorre, because of the "laugh track" - so I must assume they deliberately created this effect to appeal to the That 70's Show/BBT/2 1/2 Men, etc. audiences. Seriously, baws, I watched nothing but cartoons, Star Trek and sitcoms in the 1970s, maybe a little Emergency! and 1-Adam-12, but that's it.)

If you can’t interact with the opposite sex in non-sexual ways, I guess you’re right.
