Well, when one's tuition is $12k/year instead of $500, not failing and having to stay in school longer is just a little more important, especially considering how shitty the job market still is for recent grads.
They're under a lot of stress. Let them have a little respite. The pet therapy basically involves dogs from shelters getting to come and play with people for a day. The dogs love it, the students love it. The shelter gets relatively free advertising. Some of the dogs get a chance to be adopted sooner. It's good for everyone.

I really could’ve used some pet therapy when I was there. That and the internet. And more glory holes.

I'm pretty sure these dogs have to be trained. They're not just going to go grab Spot and Spike from the shelter down the road, put a vest on them and call them therapy dogs.

They're not true therapy dogs. They're called that for finals week, but it's actually just allowing some of the better behaved, better socialized dogs from the shelter to come out and play with college students who enjoy the break.

Yeah, that's not how any of this works. These aren't "therapy dogs" with a vest, these are shelter muts who just want to play with the students, and the students want to play with them. It's also free

Student council probably. They've had snacks for years. Pet therapy is a new one, and I don't see where they have room for a relaxation room. People need that area to study.

Will there be mustard for the snacks?

I think the "relaxation room" is just one of the dozen meeting rooms in the library. I think they set up some cots and a couch and keep it quiet so students who are in there all hours of the night can have a place to lay down and take a nap.
The snacks are a line item on the student government budget. It's usually nothing elaborate, just like a few bags of chips, pretzels, and maybe some cheap cookies.
The best place to go for snacks during Finals Week is Christ the King. They serve lunch and dinner and have coffee and snacks all day in the parish center during finals week.

Go to Middleton
Buy $6 mochassippi
Take out laptop, 3 textbooks and half assed written notes
Get on TD for 30 minutes
Study 20 minutes
Pack all shite up and leave, convincing yourself you’ll “really buckle down hard tomorrow, you have plenty of time”
Go to bar, get drunk
Convince yourself you’re too hungover to study, you have plenty of time
Repeat

I don’t understand the thought process that modern young adults need MORE coddling than they’ve already received

Back in my day we had doritos girl and the guy that drove his car in the quad.
Fwiw.
Driving car in quad and unloading the contents of your trunk will always be cool. Being a frat star who throws like a girl will not.
