I'm not rooting against him either. But he has not proven anything as a head coach yet. Even his interim stints included ugly losses to rivals. It is what it is.
I'm thrilled we have a chance to win 10 games this season, but we made a head coaching change because seasons like this one weren't considered good enough.

Exactly he has now had a full year so no excuses next year. I expect us to improve on what we did this year. hopefully we can.

Yep, I expect the same. Coach O's recruiting prowess has been hyped since he was hired. We should be reloading instead of rebuilding. Competing for championships, like O said when he was hired.
Yet one poster yesterday actually said next year's goal should be a winning record. That's just not acceptable. If it was, Les would still be coaching out the remainder of his contract.

Obviously you don’t know what record vs ranked opponents means
Well someone clearly stated 1-4 vs teams that were ranked at the end of the season so either you can’t read or you have an agenda to overinflate his record by counting an Ole Miss team that went 5-7 as ranked because the morons that vote in the AP had them 23 around halfway thru the season
quote:
or you didn’t like that Os is good so yo altered the definition to fit your agenda
Irony king strikes again! The only one with an agenda is you. You can claim beating an OM team that finished 5-7 or a Florida team that went 4-7 and fired their coach 2 weeks after we barely beat them was beating ranked teams but in the end you are only deluding yourself. Despite what you may think we all want LSU to win at a high level. You don’t get to the SECCG, the playoffs or access bowls by bragging about where teams were ranked when you played them. You get there by beating actual good teams, teams as in plural. So far, post Ole Miss O has only beat 2 actual good teams total, Stanford at USC and Auburn this year. So if you want to do better than 9-3 and the Citrus Bowl you are going to have to beat more than 1 team that FINISHES ranked where they are ranked when you play them isn’t really that important.

but outside of the Rantard bubble it isn’t reality.
Bro, it’s you that needs to step outside a bubble. Go find an article about the CFB playoffs where they discussed the resume of various teams. They clearly talk about CURRENT rankings, if they talk about rankings at the time they clearly mention it that way, like Auburn beat 2 teams that were ranked #1 or something like that. No one, except for Finebaum, gives Alabama credit for beating a top 3 team in Florida St

I’m good right now. Next year will be telling.

When? In this order (easiest to hardest)
1-We don't lost to Troy at home
2- Miss St doesn't beat us by 30 points
3- We beat Bama
Les may have failed on # 2 and 3 but he never loses to Troy. Les> Coach Zero. I wanted Les gone. We need a change. But a change for the better, not the worst.
Pat Zero on the back all you want. He is not an upgrade from Les which is what we need to become relevant again.

You people use the lowest of the low tactics. Accuse people of doing exactly what you’re doing, go off topic anytime you’re wrong, repeat exactly what someone els said back to them, the “i know you are but what am i” move and of course flat out lies. You can’t deal with the fact that you have absolutely no proof to backup your criticisms so you ignore facts, try to twist reality or use double standard arguments that make you look like ignorant hypocrites. You pretend to know more football than coaches and administrators when the fact is 90% of you never played a down in your lives and none of you have ever coached or been involved in any type of football admin position. You make ignorant statements about something you know nothing about and you do it all with zero evidence to back your position. We’ve improved under O that’s a fact and as long as that continues he’s going to be the coach at LSU and all your crybaby tactics and lies can’t change that. What miserable lives you people have.

Well we don’t play Troy next year so there’s nothing to worry about. As far as changing for the better Ogeron is 15-5 at LSU that’s a 75% winning pct, Miles was 19-10 over his last 3 seasons that’s a 65% win pct so changing for the better is exactly what we’ve done so far. Nobody can say if he’s the long term answer or not but so far he’s maintained expectations.

Is 9-3 an expectation? We fired Les for better than that.

I’ve never seen someone so self unaware, it’s remarkable

The lamest of lame straw men this makes nonsense and is completely false. I may never have played but I can make informed opinions about what I see.

zero evidence to back your position
We were discussing how many teams O has beaten that finished the season ranked, the final or most recent polls are in fact evidence of that position
quote:

Improved from what? Les Miles last 9 games or whatever arbitrary time slot you want to select? The beginning of this season? Sure the team got better as the year progressed but I still see no signs of getting to the level we really what to be at which is contending for SEC Championships and beyond. You can call a win over OM a ranked win all you want but they finished 5-7 which is below average that’s it a “lie”.

My life is just fine sparky, sorry that I have a different view than you and other CheeriOs about the direction of the program. I root for LSU, not the coach.

Orgeron will never get the credit from those who did not want him to begin with. This team could win the national title and people would say it's because of the assistant coaches (that Orgeron surrounded himself with). It's sad, but it's to be expected from this terrible fan base we have.

How many SEC teams with winning records did O beat?
Posted on 12/4/17 at 11:42 am to Adam Banks
Beat Bama and make the CFP playoffs.
Not the Citrus Bowl. Not the Outback Bowl. Not the Texas Bowl.
No. More. Excuses.

We'll see how the season finishes out. I'm encouraged with the direction over the latter half of the season. We currently rank 16/14 in the polls. Last year we finished 13th in the AP which was actually our highest finish since 2011. We beat ND and likely end somewhere around 10-12.
This is our best SEC conference record since 2012. All positives. Not the ultimate goal, but positive nonetheless.
With a bowl win we will finish at or slightly above pre-season polls. I would call the season successful, but a push due to early season mistakes. Next year O is no longer a 1st year coach so the bar raises. Unfortunately for him and LSU there is no grace period with Miami game 1 and @Auburn game 3. Regardless, 2018 is SECCG or bust. If the hire was to elevate the team to the next level when Miles couldn't (past 2011) then he needs to prove he can do it.

Zero has beaten very few ranked opponents. I can only think of Auburn this year and Louisville last year.

However the way to judge somebody is by their results.
That’s cool and all but what has he done that we haven’t seen in the last 6 years?
We lost to Bama....again
We lost to Troy at home
We were blown out by MSU, first time, ever!
We are attending another non-playoff/BCS bowl.
The end “results” look very familiar.
Beat Bama, and Compete for a playoff spot, those are the only results that should be accepted after firing a coach who had the same “results”
You’re accepting mediocracy if you’re pleased with those results. Same results, different coach.
Congrats on the irrelevant bowl game...again!

Dude. Have some higher standards. If O wins an SEC Championship and at least gets to the playoffs, then we can take him seriously.
