re: I'm getting a new driver for Christmas...and I need some help

I just got a Epic. Was hitting a Taylormade aeroburner that I always fought off a high weak fade. I hit a natural fade. The taylormade really didn’t have the correct shaft for me so I can’t really blame it. But the Epic just feels good at setup. I tried the M1 also just didn’t feel as good.
Took it out in the course first time today and all I can say is wow.

It took a while to get the courage to spend those dollars

Which driver have you been using?

Guys the Epic is my clear winner. (Sub-zero with Aldila Rogue x-flex)
fricking loved it. Does it have good reviews? I hope I didn’t just pick a bad club.
Swing speed was 118.2 average and I used an extra stiff in each I tried. Runner up was close, the M1.
Spin rate, carry, roll, accuracy, etc. calculated for each with different shafts and weight settings.
Epic and M1 had identical results basically, but I hate the look and sound of the M1.
27 yards longer on average with both than my driver. Carry 18 longer. Insane. Just beat the brakes off the ball.
I am pumped for Santa Claus this year

I think people either love or hate that Epic. I hit it a few times. Felt and sounded weird to me.
The people who have them and like them typically hit them well. I’ve never seen anyone with one that was on the fence.

The Taylormade is just so ugly. What are they thinking?

Which shaft did you get?

I have the M1, wish I would have hit the epic. I like my m1 but it’s the only driver I hit. Always have doubt when I don’t hit every club available first.

Aldila Rogue X stiff with a high kick point.
Can’t remember the rest of the specs but I hit 10 different ones and settled on it. Really lowered my ball flight and backspin considerably.
ETA:
I am new to the customizable driver settings technology. I can't wait secretly do that when I'm playing in my 4 some to adjust for winds or something and not tell them
I'm sure they've been doing it for years, and yes, we all know its illegal.
We also give each other 1 chulligan per 9 holes, so its not the most strict of rule following.

I have the Epic SubZero 9* with the Rogue Silver 70X. I have it set to -1/D. It's not tipped but I choke down about an inch.

Yep...that's what I got.
I'm very excited.

The only reason I have it set to Draw is bc I found the SZ to be a little fade bias, which is already my miss. The regular Epic, while producing way more spin for me, went straight and was easier to draw without much adjustment.
I've had it for about 9 months now and it's stil one of the better purchases I made (it was actually a birthday present from my wife). These numbers are from last week:

Your numbers are pretty close to mine. My swing speed is only about 7 mph on average higher, but the launch angle and back spin rates are similar.
My old Titleist driver was putting out like 3800 RPMs on back spin. I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw the results.

Ignore the roll out. No way 30 yds happens regularly. On these monitors, I'm looking at ball speed and spin: the two things it can actually measure and how it gets the carry distance. It calculates clubhead speed using the same 1.45 smash number. So it's not that reliable. 275 is my peak IRL number. I probably average closer to 260 on the course in real conditions and a little more controlled swing.

Yeah my monitor was giving me something ridiculous like 331 average total distance with 289 carry or something. That's 40 yards of roll
With my current driver I'm more like a 275-280 carry guy with about 10 yards of roll tops. High ball with little roll. I have to crank one to hit 300+ and that happens like 1-2 times a round at most, but I'm hoping this new driver lets me eclipse that consistently in like the 305-310 range. I know it'll be lower launch angle and ball spin, so I really can't wait for Christmas.
Might go hit some shag balls into the woods on Christmas morning just for shits and giggles

So, what are the best out there right now? I have high swing speed, high ball flight, and usually play a slight draw (or hook ). I have heard endless things about how great Taylormade is right now, but what else is there?
everyone makes good drivers now. Go put them in your hand and see what you like. Then pick a few that you like and go hit them. Ping, Calloway, Taylormade, Titleist, Mizuno, they all make good ones.

Gotten a few rounds in with the new toy.
It is LONG. I can’t believe how much technology has advanced in drivers over the last 12-14 years.
