Apparently Macadoo told Manning he could continue to start to keep his starting streak alive, but they would be playing Geno/Davis Webb

Doubt it. Pretty impossible to put a QB into a new system this year and be successful and no one wants to be stuck to his contract

McAdoo got the job because their offense was still really productive, and they wanted Eli to have continuity in the final years of his career.
Less than two years later, Eli is on the bench, but McAdoo somehow still has a job.
Giants want to make sure Eli doesn’t somehow win some games down the stretch, and screw up a high draft pick they’re going use use on a QB.
