This move makes no sense.
If they were benching him for a rookie QB, it'd make sense. But at this point, geno wont be the long term answer, so no need to "see what you have with him." He's a journeyman. And he won't help you tank any better than you were already with Eli.
Should have just let Eli finish it out and parted ways after the season.
