I guess I’ll ask the question. Why can’t they play Minecraft on the PS4 or Switch?

Return it and get a pony.

After you "send it back", draw up a letter from Santa for Christmas Day apologizing for sending it early. He just wanted to make sure it worked with your TV.

sure, blame it on Santa, it's always someone else fault, little princess could never in a million years be guilty of 18 U.S. Code § 1708!!!

If anybody cares my wife said that the shipping box was slightly open and that's why my daughter opened it there was no tape on the bottom of the box so it could be true

Wait, you got your kid an awesome gift, that had you not lied about she would have been thrilled and YOU are bummed? Wow. So:
A: Tell the truth, she is happy a little early
B: Don't hang on to your kid's emotions regarding a holiday, they just want presents, whenever
C: What to get her NOW?! She got her damned gift! Stop being ridiculous! You shoulda never lied.

Why is your 8 year old opening things that aren't addressed to her? If I had done this as a kid, it would have been my arse.

I just got to figure something else on the Santa Claus front thing is I don't want this Santa Claus present to be lesser than a mom and dad present you know

I understand how you feel--Santa usually brings the best gifts to our house too, especially ones I have been telling them for months "There is NO way I'm getting you that!" But at 7 & 8, do they really have a concept on what is more expensive? Does the "big" gift always have to be something that costs the most, or can it be something else on their lists that maybe they really wanted? (if an Xbox One was on their lists, maybe that has changed since they think Dad is getting one.)

IMO, give them the Xbox from you, then get them some random small toys that they really want from Santa. Or let them open the Xbox from you and get them some Xbox games or other accessories from Santa and tell them "Wow, how did Santa know we were getting this for you?"

Don't be mad at us because you forgot to teach your kid to respect other people's property.

Two things I absolutely wasn't allowed to do as a kid: go into my parents room w/o permission and open something that wasn't addressed to me. Seems like basic sense.

Take it back and get her into something else before it’s too late. This is a blessing in disguise, don’t waste this second chance.

I guess no one is reading that the package was already half open exposing the Xbox box, she knows not to open mail.
