Biggest Surprise Players / Biggest Disappointments

Surprise
Offense - Ingram & Charles. I think most would have guessed Deculus would have been the true freshman OL to contribute this year. Ingram and Charles made their mistakes but have been solid overall. Better yet, both have made consistent improvement throughout the year. The future is bright on the OL
Defense - Greedy Williams. I think most believed Greedy would be a role player at best. Instead, he's a frontrunner to be named All-SEC. His ability to start at CB allowed Aranda to be creative with D. Jackson.
Special Teams - Von Rosenburg. I honestly thought he was reserve TE. While not spectacular, he has been a very solid punter.
Disappointments
Offense - Drake Davis. He looks like the first guy that should step off the bus. Prototypical size, speed, etc... I thought he would have a breakout year. He didn't.
Defense- Key - He played lights out for a brief stretch but being out of shape to begin the year and injured to close really cost him a special season. He'll still go high in the draft but his final year was a disappointment.
Special Teams - Pick a kicker. Yeesh!

Offense:
DWill
Defense:
Greedy
Disappointed in Guice’s season. Nothing against him obviously. Great Tiger and he’ll have a good pro career. But I was expecting him to run away with the heisman this season

Running away with the Heisman is a pretty lofty expectation for anyone ... He was noticeably better when he began to get healthy.
I agree with the OP about Drake Davis, I was expecting him to be a beast this year, and on a few plays he did. Hopefully next year will be his breakout.

Greedy had an unbelievable year.
He looked like our best cover corner this year.
6 INTs

If you look at just freshman, there were many great surprises this season. Greedy, Delpit, Ingram, Charles and Tory Carter were major contributors this season. Greedy was really our best DB all year. One of the better freshman classes at LSU that I can remember.
Im a little disappointed in Stevens. I would've thought he was so good of an athlete that the coaches wouldn't have been able to keep him off the field, even if just some multiple DB packages. Not sure what is going on there.
Outside of the freshman, Darrell Williams is now a legitimate threat to be taken on day 2 of the NFL draft. He could've said, well I wont outplay Guice, might as well take a chance, but came back and really made the best of it.
Drake Davis was my pick to be the breakout player on offense. Just never really got open much when he actually saw the field. Hopefully that changes, we will need him big time next year.

because he was. without question. one has lapses in technique and the other talks too much sh*t for someone that drops that many interceptions

I would love to know why he doesn't see the field. what his deal is. he should be doing some dewayne bowe type stuff.

This. Especially after his smartass tweet then he drops an easy pass the next game.

Offense - Darrell and Charles (I don't get into scrutinizing grades but was any LT in the SEC playing better at season's end? )
Defense - Greedy - best CB in the conference
ST - Gage

Defense
Surprises
Delpit/White/Williams- I have to include White.
I knew White was going to be a good player from the few games he played in last yr, but he's just an incredible football player. Hes the best ILB, Ive seen at LSU. He's arguably the best player in the SEC.
Disappointments
Arden Key wins this by a mile.
Donte Jackson- Although, Cheetah's still my favorite player,I thought he was going to dominate every team's #1 WR including Ridley and Kirk and would lead the SEC in punt returns.
Offense
Surprise- Saddiq Charles- To walk in and play LT in this league and play it well is a category for very few people in the history of this league.
Disappointment
Foster Moreau- He's still one of my favorite players on the team but I thought he was going to be much more involved in the passing game. I may have mentioned Gronk a time or two, when touting him preseason, but Im taking the 5th on that.

Disappointments - all things kicking game...
Over achievers - defensive line with thin depth all year and getting better.

Devin white is the best linebacker Lsu has ever had. Key is immature I wouldn’t draft key until round six as a project. Too much risk.

Biggest surprise is Gage
Biggest disappointment is a number of offensive players...jacory Washington, Jamal Pettigrew, Dee Anderson, CEH (mostly because of how little playing time he got).

Biggest surprises
Offense - gotta go with Charles/Ingram and Darrell Williams
I know Williams had experience but his big play ability in both the run and passing plus the wildcat has been huge for us.
Defense - Greedy Williams/Locature
Greedy is one of the best corners in the country and the best lockdown corner we’ve had since Peterson as a freshman and Locature has blown away all of his previous seasons combined with the production he’s had this season.
Disappointments
Offense - the big wideouts with these guys size they should be converting 3rd and mediums at will and be huge red zone targets
Defense - Alexander and Frank Herron. Alexander is a senior and has been the weak spot on most weekends for us and Herron is a senior 5* recruit who had flashes during his career but really took a step back this season.

Drake Davis lives at Bogies. After a shitty early season home game (may have been Troy), he was causing a scene at Bogies within an hour after the game ended. Acting like it was no big deal.
