Update from a Bruin insider who works in the AD department: He doesn't feel confident in Kelly at all, and says this is the second time the fanbase has gotten their hopes up only to have them dashed. He says it was a major embarrassment from Pierson, and that he got several very angry calls to tell them to delete it. He also said Biggins was using the source from Pierson (as I suspected earlier)and he doesn't think they have a real shot at Chip Kelly due to their facilities -- they have no capacity to do secret practices and they don't even have a 100 yard football field to practice on. He said that their top guys are confident, but they also did this with Patterson when they were never in the running and that he wouldn't be surprised if it happened again.

Just follow the timeline, man. The Gainesville Sun story was walked back. UCLA Insiders said they moved on from Chip Kelly Monday (per multiple sources), today they said ink was dry. They said Kelly's agents met with UCLA yesterday, today they said that UCLA's agents didn't meet him in UCLA. (Third edit: They said they met in NH today in spite of no flights going from LA to NH). THEN we had our strongest evidence: They had an article saying that Chip Kelly had chosen UCLA over Florida, then deleted it and had their writer draw up a major apology. Seriously, there has not been a serious, consistent source about UCLA the last three days. They have misprinted, misspoken and deleted from: The National Level (ESPN, SBNation), the Regional Level (Tracy Pierson) and the Insider Level (Their paid boards). It's not a coincidence that our insiders specifically stated that there would be false reports about UCLA over and over again and they've been carried out.
