So moving to a pay by use format that's just like every other utility is bad?

How would you feel if your gas company decided to only supply gas to a particular brand of appliances? Or your electric utility only worked with certain light bulbs?

Don’t worry, they’ll let you still use that appliance, they will just limit how much gas you can use in at any time. Only cooking on low heat for you! Wonder if that would influence consumers on using their approved appliances they extorted a deal out of?

They aren't allowed to do so by the La Public Service Commission.

Even if they could, why would they choose to limit their revenue and piss off their customers? Even though they hypothetically could, tell me why that would be a desirable long term pricing structure that a business would want to embrace.
