quote:

Missouri hasn't provided much detail about Porter's injury beyond initially characterizing it as a hip injury.

The 6-foot-10 Porter appeared to injure his hip two minutes into the season opener on Nov. 10 against Iowa State. He wasn't on the bench for the team's home win over Wagner and didn't travel to a loss at Utah.

Rumors abound that the injury is actually a knee injury and not a hip injury as was first reported by Mizzou.

This kid ain't playing this year even if he's cleared. Business decision.

He’d be smart not to play a game there.

He was so fun to watch in high school. I firmly believe he will be a superstar in the NBA. I liked him better than Fultz.

Something doesn’t seem right here. He isn’t even sitting on bench last game. Now they announce he won’t play or be in the building because he has an appointment with specialist during game? If it’s an injury just say he’s out x amount of time and end speculation.

Is this the kid that Mizzu fans said would guarantee a ring this year for them?

Hip injuries can be sneaky serious. Hope the best for the kid. He won’t play for Mizzou this year.

Probably not worth anything like most “sources” BS on message boards, but I’ve got a friend I’m in grad school with that worked in the Mizzou athletic department for awhile. He says they’re all pretty sure he’s out for the year with a herniated disk.

It happened in pregame warmup. He started to avoid a technical foul since he was already on the scorer’s lineup.

It appears(of course through sources, but a lot of them) That hes out till end up December/early January.

He didn't fly on a plane because he was still in a bit of pain, and a 6'10 guy already would be uncomfortable on a freaking plane.

Also a rumor floating around is that his mom wants him to get a bunch of different MRI's, but everyone keeps telling him no because you have to document that for NBA teams. - no clue if this is true or not, but i could see it?

If he is really out until January, he might as well just sit out the whole year.
