essential for lazy parents.

50 year scientific study says spanking kids is linked with the same negative child outcomes as abuse, just to a slightly lesser degree.

I think raising kids either with or without spanking is ok...if done properly, either way can turn out very good kids.

unfortunately, spanking is all too often done out of anger and can pretty easily cross the line in that situation.

I would say that spanking might be necessary for some kids, especially ones who aren’t as intelligent or who lack imagination.

We always held spanking above our kids as the worst thing that could ever happen to them as punishment and threatened it as a last resort. We knew if we ever crossed that line and actually did it we would lose that ultimate fear forever. If you are patient with kids and give them love and set expectations then they should fall in line. If the parents are jerks then the kids will likely be and vice versa.

Beating your kid? Yes, trashy. But spanking is essential

The world is full of parents that were able to raise well mannered, respectful children without laying a hand on them. Also,do you tell kids you are only spanking, not beating them otherwise how will they will be able to differentiate between the two?

Sounds like you’ve no kids of your own that you have in fact raised.

Spanking is best used to get the little shite’s undivided attention. Not really for the the pain.

Spanking is for uneducated trailer trash or someone stuck in a past generation. My kid listens VERY well and I've never hit him once. Sorry your kids are retards.

Science and 50 years of studying 160,000 kids being spanked says you're wrong.

Regrets all around.

Sounds like you are an idiot who’s kids don’t respect him because he’s an angry bully. They are just biding their time till you are too old and/or drunk to fight back and they are going to kick your arse as retribution. Enjoy the punctured lung and liquid diet, Doyle.

Well this is a bad thing. As a kid the only time I was spanked was when I deserved it. Same with my now grown kids. I can count on one hand the times I spanked all 3 of mine. I only did it when I could not get my point across after exhausted all my verbal threats.

Sounds like you were dropped on your head and are out of your league raising kids.

Can’t wait till your disappointment sinks in and you're face to face with how crappy of a parent you really are.

I raised two sons. I no longer needed to whip them the moment each of them fully understood that at any time, in any place, in front of any person, I was perfectly willing to stop what I was doing an tear their asses up. About 8 or 9 years old for each of them.

Common sense says your books and studies are no substitute for dealing with a problem in real life.

Keep your head up your arse long enough and you assume everything just smells like shite because your perspective is skewed.
