Using the committee's own rankings and guidelines used by every other sport sanctioned by the NCAA here would be your playoff bracket if the playoff was to start this weekend using current records in conference:

Auto Entries:
Central Florida
Miami
Oklahoma
Wisconsin
Florida Atlantic
Toledo
Boise St
USC
Georgia
Arkansas St

Virginia Tech @ Mississippi St, winner plays 1. Georgia
Arkansas St @ Washington, winner plays 8. Wisconsin
Iowa @ Ohio St, winner plays 4. Clemson
Boise St @ Michigan St, winner plays 5. Oklahoma

Central Florida @ Oklahoma St, winner plays 2. Alabama
Florida Atlantic @ Auburn, winner plays 7. Miami
Washington St @ Penn St, winner plays 3. Notre Dame
Toledo @ USC, winner plays 6. TCU

I get it the excuses will be:

This sucks!!
Nobody will watch first round
Too many games for college players
This isn't fair!!

Sure they do they won their conference. It is good enough for every other major sport but NCAAF and its racket

So are you interested in this set-up so as to create consistency across divisional levels, or because you think it would lead to better football?

I am setting it up to show how it would look if they used the NCAA bylaws that are currently used in every other NCAA sport

These "ideas" are always terrible.

Do you really think Ohio State should have a shot after last week?

So every team with a pulse gets in the playoff. What an enthralling regular season you'd have. Not a single meaningful game between good teams until mid December when students aren't even in school.

If they were a top 24 team as determined by a seeding committee and that committee granted entry into all conference champions I would have no issue with it.

But people are so brainwashed from NCAA Football they cant think clearly

I love the not important game fallacy argument also. You guys are so predictable.

Explain how High Schools and lower Divisions can do this and make it work but if FBS tried it it would be Armageddon.

That playoff system would be intriguing as hell to watch. Although I would still prefer the G5 seceded and had their own system. Everyone will bring the same stupid excuse that it will somehow diminish the regular season, which I still don't agree with.

The games would still be meaningful, teams aren't just going to start losing on purpose. Having 2 losses does not guarantee you a spot in the playoffs.

24 teams is too many. The difference between the top and bottom is too far for your bullshite to make any sense.

Welcome to college football, though. I think you're going to love it.

"Everyone who disagrees with me is brainwashed"

I don't know how anyone that went to a school that plays big time college football would want to throw away do or die fall Saturdays just so shite teams can "have a shot."

Small programs will never have a legitimate shot in revenue generating college sports. Even in basketball they never win it all. In a sport like football where depth is so critical, power programs will always come out on top.

Explain why FBS and high school football are different?

Do you want to try that again?

These kids have final exams!!!! Won't you think of the students????!!! I just want to see some campus games if it goes to 8/16. As you know, this is a bit old, but other people have had these thoughts.

Really the excvuse is too many games but they do it and those teams are playing against teams of their own level. Try again.

As for depth issue, you guys want to the best team to win it so this gives you the best team.

A team having 3-4 losses could still be guaranteed a spot.

I don't care about the number of games.

Try again.

So a team that wins their conference should not have a chance to win a national championship?

You are being retarded again, but it is expected of you.

Take a look at Alabama for example. With our talent, there are really only 4 games we could feasibly lose each season. Under the format in the OP, we could go .500 in those games and get in. We could maybe even go 1-3 and still get in.

Ohio State is 1-2 against good teams this year. Why should that warrant a playoff spot?
