You can get a real nice used full sized truck with low mileage for under 40k

I bought one in Feb. because I can't fit a full size in my garage and I like it a lot. The only issue I've run into is that my back seat doesnt have a ton of leg room, but I rarely have anyone back there anyway so it's not a huge deal

I'm gonna search for some 2017 F-150's. Is XLT the best trim I can get for $40,000?

V8 necessary if I rarely tow anything? That's why I was looking for mid-size, no real need to tow at this time.

2017s are about 32-35k right now unless you require a ton of options. A Lariat will be closer to 40k.

Courtesy in Breaux Bridge had 14k off of ‘17 XLT F-150s. I’d look that way.

Hell IDK I rarely have both kids in my truck right now and one will be in a booster before too long. I'm gonna look at the 2017 F150's but may still go mid-size.

4x4 lariat?

Not sure about that. I've been negotiating with a few dealers right now. I don't need a 4x4 though so haven't been looking at them.

I've been looking. Also have 2 kids but I'm in a full sized crew cab now too. It's hard to beat the room in full sized trucks. Especially on a road trips with the kids

My thing is if we ever go anywhere, we're always taking the SUV.

My truck is our travel vehicle. Plus my kids are both 11 and enjoy the room. The wife has a sedan so we always take mine.

Just bought a full size V8 crew cab 4x4 decently loaded truck for $38k. With the rebates on new trucks right now, I have no idea why you'd buy a used one. They're the same price.

Same thing I'm finding on the 2017s at least.
