Bug Shield / Hood Protector F-150

Posted by ELLESYU2 on 12/1/17 at 12:42 pm
Any recommendations on which one to look at?

I was looking at this one but it looks like the only 2018 one they have is for the Raptor. Would the 2017 fit on the 2018 F-150?

Plus if you’re going with the ecoboost, is it that much more money for the 3.5?

At this point, I've narrowed my search down to all 2017 XLT's at dealerships within 100 miles of Sulphur.

Looks like I could scoop up a good deal on a 2017 and I'm just not that concerned about the engine size for what I'll use it for. I know, just get a car - not happening.
You guys think the 2.7L V6 is enough power to RARELY tow something small (trailer, aluminum boat)?

One I'm looking at

Are your car seats still rear facing or no?

Both front facing
Wound that truck have any problem towing a bay boat or small trailer? That's the only thing I might ever how. I don't wanna spend for the V8 if I have no use for it.
Yea but still $37k for a new XLT 4x4 seems like a good deal. I guess that's the smallest engine but I don't care. Still more towing capacity than the Colorado i assume
Where?

This one seems like a good deal, no?
My thing is if we ever go anywhere, we're always taking the SUV.
Hell IDK I rarely have both kids in my truck right now and one will be in a booster before too long. I'm gonna look at the 2017 F150's but may still go mid-size.
I'm gonna search for some 2017 F-150's. Is XLT the best trim I can get for $40,000?

V8 necessary if I rarely tow anything? That's why I was looking for mid-size, no real need to tow at this time.
So all the reviews are wrong? Not being a smart arse but in almost all comparisons, the reviews choose the Colorado.

I could consider a full size but what full size can I get with decent options for under $40,000?

Convince me not to buy a Chevy Colorado

Looking at either the Tacoma or Colorado.

Most reviews are pointing me towards the Colorado. I'm not too concerned with resale at this point because I plan to have it for 6-8 years.

I can get a pretty loaded 2018 Z71 (heated seats, navigation, all leather, etc) Colorado for the same price as the 2017 SR5 Tacoma. I like the body style of both about the same.

I have 2 carseats. Is there a difference in rear seating area?
I'm not sure what that means.

Supplemental Long Term Disability

Posted by ELLESYU2 on 10/30/17 at 2:33 pm
I met with a Financial Planner at NW Mutual a few weeks ago. He is recommending my wife and I both get a supplemental long term disability policy on top of our work policies which both cover 65% of our pay.

His recommendation is for me to get a $2100/month policy with a premium of $25/month and my wife to get $2500/month policy for $50/month.

Background:
Combined income of about $165,000, 2 kids in daycare, mortgage, 1 car note.

Is this something we should consider?
