A reasonable person can piece together what happened in the Troy game, what Orgeron has said about that game and the meeting and come to that conclusion.

He will be able to have something tangible to point to when selling recruits that Lsu is still the number one contender to unseat Bama in the west.

How exactly do you look at this season and sell recruits on "we are the #1 contender to unseat Bama" lol??

did you tell people that when they bashed miles

Miles deserved to be bashed. He was trending down and dragging the program with him.

Y'all act like Miles wasn't fricking up badly at the end.

If LSU wins out they just tell the recruits that they are the #2 team in the SEC West. Not that hard to understand.

I agree who cares where he is from...in fact was a Louisiana embarrassment after his Ole Miss days and he does not represent the state well at all

A positive team attitude.
A tremendous accomplishment considering how the early part of the season went.

And this is the same team that got skull drag by state?
Definitely an improvement since that game. I have a want to see further improvement.

Just came to downvote.

Good on you for admitting that you didn't give him a chance to be successful.

I'm one that feels O was a mistake hire, and I was very vocal in my dismay early in the season.

I expected this season to be better, as I thought short-term he could coattail Miles' program, and get away with it for a year or two. I expected the loss to Bama, and figured we might drop a game to another good program (I looked at Auburn, thought Florida and Tennessee on the road were dangerous, thought A&M might catch us at some point). Never in a million years did I see a beatdown at Miss St coming, nor did I forsee a loss to Troy. At this point in the season, I can tell that Tennessee, Florida and A&M have imploded, so really the Auburn game was the only one truly impressive, and we historically handle Auburn at home.
Still have 3 games to win, against teams collapsing, before we can declare this season any type of success.

I will say that the recovery from the early season disaster has been ok, but it still should not have happened. I also say that I still have little faith in O's long term vision and plans. Will also say that we wasted a chance at a playoff run this year- if you can go 2 of 3 vs Auburn, Fla and Alabama in any one season, you should be hovering high in the rankings, not at the bottom of it.

All that said, I'd be happy to be wrong. I want LSU to excel, and if O can do it, great. Losing to Alabama is nothing to be ashamed of, so that game doesn't bother me. But he's used up just about all the slack he was given with the 2 early embarrassing losses, and I don't think he can absorb another one of those and survive.

Apparently it is for you because that in no way makes us the #1 contender to unseat Bama. The SEC West is just garbage.

We will probably wind up third or fourth in the West. This is the problem with you O sycophants who run on emotion. Numbers mean things. Stats mean things.

When we win out and Bama wins out, we will be number 2. Why continue to hate on Coach O when he is proving game after game that he is capable of turning this ship around?

You are the other side’s Rickdaddy. Nobody can ruin—or extend—threads quite like you guys. Even if I agree with you, I bail after a few posts(I haven’t read a post in this thread since page 3). If you are the last post in 3+ page thread, I will not bother opening it. You are literally the fricking worst.

My only hope for your mental health if your last name is not Orgeron is that Chicken pays you per word or per post. Otherwise, woof. You may want to check yourself in somewhere.

This.

Now he needs to prove that he isn't totally worthless by keeping the team motivated for the next 3 games and winning all 3 and then somehow putting together a recruiting class that isn't our worst in over a decade. In that event, I'll maybe have a little bit of confidence in him going forward.

I mean... has he really proven anything? We haven't completely collapsed, but let's not act like we've been setting the world on fire. We beat 2 terrible teams, beat 1 good one and lost to a very good one. That, coupled with an atrocious start to the season puts this season square in the "meh" to "bad" range - just good enough to fire our previous coach, no? If we handle business the last 3 games, I'll be far more inclined to agree with the "righting the ship" narrative. I'm simply not there yet. Too much inconsistency.

I started a thread basically stating that I felt CEO was giving me more confidence in the future right after the Auburn game and got downvoted into oblivion. I'm glad that people are starting to see things my way.
