Ingram is 1,052 yards away from passing McAllister as the all-time Saints leading rusher

He's on a pace to catch that by next Thanksgiving.
And he has 8 fewer fumbles than Deuce too.
Comments?

our running back history is abysmal.

Would like to see Ingram increase his ypc for rest of year a bit. If he's 4.5-5.0 ypc, this offense would be much more lethal.

Up until last year Ingram has been an average NFL RB. He's probably in the top 1/3rd of RB's now.
However, I think the stat speaks more to the fact of just how dismal the Saints have been as a franchise. Of franchises that have been around at least 40 years, only Tampa (close enough) and KC have franchise leaders with less yards than McAllister

I agree.
It's funny to see how Ingram is borderline despised by a chunk of the fanbase and everybody loved Deuce, but Ingram does have a higher YPC and fewer fumbles.

How can he do that by always going down in the backfield and just being a terrible running back in general with incredible trade value?

He'll have it by Thanksgiving dinner.

I think it's part bad luck
Mayes and Hilliard were above-average RBs who had bad luck with injuries early in their careers.
Drugs killed Chuck Muncie and George Rogers.
Ricky Williams put up incredible career numbers, but he was expendable after Deuce was drafted.
The problem also lies in the fact that there was literally nothing before Muncie was drafted and a whole lot of garbage between Hilliard and Williams.

He also only needs 500 receiving yards and a TD to catch him in that department.

I'm not one of the Ingram haters, but it makes sense if you break it down. Deuce got here in 2001. Yeah, we had just won the division and our first playoff game, but he came in after mostly a period of awful football. So, even average play was warmly welcomed. Ingram came in 2011, two years after the Super Bowl. So, we were spoiled as fans. Anything that didn't get us another Super Bowl didn't have as much shine as before.
Although, it is interesting that they both came from 2 of the most hated schools by LSU fans, but many Saints/LSU fans hold Alabama against Ingram way more than Ole Miss against Deuce.

Duece never went to Alabama......
He went to Ole Miss which is much fricking worse.

even Deuce, who was here 8 seasons, only had 4 truly prime seasons where he was healthy.
Take a look at the top 5 yards from scrimmage seasons between Deuce and Ingram - Deuce owns 4 of the 5 most yards from scrimmage by season

Ingram is terrible we should trade him to Cleveland and draft Guice #1 next year!!!!

Deuce had 1300 & 1600 yard seasons back to back
Ingram's career high is 1043
Ingram has never really been the guy.

He’s been playing what 8 years... duece gained those stats in like 5-6 healthy seasons lol people give it up Ingram was gonna get there eventually.

Ingram missed 18 games in his first six seasons.
Deuce missed 15 in his first six seasons.
Next question

Not disagreeing with the principle, but if he stays healthy all season, he'd have 3 straight 1,000 yard seasons right now (and he's on pace for another). Last year was his first 1,000 yard season, but it was also his first season where he appeared in 13 or more games since season 2.
