I saw prices drop today for flights to Europe. I've been watching flights to Rome in June. They are at the lowest I've seen so far at $1020 each. I see flights for same trip in May are around $800 each.

Should I keep holding out?

***Edit***

If one of you travel experts can find something for me.

My travel days are June 4th from New Orleans, return date of June 14, one adult and 14 year old.

We are flying into Rome and flying out of Venice.

I have found $2047 for both tickets. The flights out of NYC are cheap today(less than $600each), but I cannot find anything to get me to/from N.O. to NYC, where the times match up or cheaper than a total of $2047

HUGE flash sale today on Europe.

You can get flights to Europe from NOLA as low as $486 today, every time but around Christmas.

American, British Airways, Alitalia, Finnair, Iberia.

Check out Scott's Cheap Flights and sign up for email updates (the free version). Next be patient and wait, should be able to find ~$500 fares at some point.

I've done that, thats where I saw the flights today.

But, oh well, the flight I was looking at is gone now. I waited too late

Now is bargain time for winter and early spring, I bet if you keep an eye out you will be able to find some sub $1000 flights for next summer. Something in the $800 range is very likely for May and June.

ANytime you see those emails you literally have to book it immediately because those deals will be gone even 10 minutes later.

Is this generally true for all airlines? I want to fly Delta from MYS to Paris or Lyon in early June and the airfare is showing as $1600 per ticket.

You should definitely get cheaper than that. Just be patient.

I by no means can promise you that with just Delta or just any single airline. In general yes, if you set a flight tracker and are ready to book immediately with 6 plus months of time you should be able to get flights to Europe for under or close to $1000 to the 4-5 major hubs Amsterdam, Paris, London, Munich, Rome, etc. Usually in the $800 range if you are ready and watching closely.
