Mountain Brook teen and LSU superfan Sid Ortis dies - 10/31/2015
Rest in peace, Sid. And here's to LSU going to play for VICTORY against Alabama this weekend that you asked for.
Les Miles, you were and are a very good man of character and always represented LSU proudly.

Miles first called 16-year-old Sid Ortis and prayed with him in March, telling him, "Life is not how long you live, but how well you live it." He then invited him to be his box-seat guest in Death Valley in September. He phoned Sid again when he came home on hospice, and said, "When you get to Heaven, save a spot for me."

This past weekend, I participated in the Bham Alumni Chapter's Taste of Louisiana which raises money for the Sid Strong Foundation. Was a great turn out despite the crappy weather.
I did well in the amateur division, btw.

Lost a little faith in God after that loss and story came up.

That in itself will make Les Miles my LSU coach forever.

what a great story and why we will never have another man quite like les miles. Hated that we had to lose to bama that night or any night

I remember this story quite well. I never met Sid but I couldn't help but love the kid and everything that Les did to support him. That one really hurt at the story's end...
