Here we go. This moment is what everything has lead up to.

I'm not a community leader but I plan on acting a fool in orange for the baws that can't make it!

A lot of us have waited for this for our entire lives.
Bill Doran was my favourite player growing up. I will never forget my first trip to the Astrodome - seeing the scoreboard was amazing. I remember the giveaway was an Astros uniform cooking apron. I wore that stupid thing in the backyard for wiffle ball (this was before jerseys and the like were common, so having a uniform apron was a bigger deal then than now).
I remember getting off the bus and running home during the lads' one playoff appearance - knowing that their clash at Shea against the Metropolitans would be well underway. My late grandfather had the game on for me and was sad that my Astronauts would lose that day to the great Darryl Strawberry and the eventual World Champions.
And who can forget those hot summer nights after little league, building model baseball stadiums and fields on my room, organizing my card collections and listening to Milo Hamilton and Larry Dierker call the action. There was something mysterious about their calls from the west coast, when the games went on past midnight and I had to sneak my listens with headphones. Hearing them call the action from Candlestick park, with the swirling winds - it seemed almost foreign.
Many of us have waited our entire lives, never believing this day would come, mates. I can't wait to watch our dreams come true with all of my fellow Louisiana Astro fans

Lots of Astros fans on my flight to LAX.
Going to be a hell of a good time watching Verlander complete his ascend to Astros nobility.

Must be a Dodger or Ranger douche lurking and downvoting everyone.
Go Stros! Hope they can get it done tonight. Would have been awesome to watch them do it in Houston in front of the home crowd, but will be amazing anyway to see H-town get a World Series.

The promised land, Justin Verlander. Take us there.

I hope Verlander is ready to throw 130. He has an extra day of rest, and he's seen this bullpen up close all series.

As I get ready for tonight, I can’t think about the reason I became a fan: Milo Hamilton. Growing up as a kid in BR, listening to them on the radio as I would be getting into bed. Mom always telling me to turn it off but I’d just turn it lower. Thank you and may you Rest In Peace, Milo
Also falling in love even more the first time I visited the Astrodome. Watching Biggio and being captivated by how he played.
This post really doesn’t have any rhyme of reason, I just can’t help but have the nostalgia of my childhood and I know I’m probably not alone.
Let’s finish this tonight and celebrate a world title. Let’s go JV and let’s go Astros.

Extra day rest and temperature isn’t in the 90s he should be good to go.
