Happy for Quad, he’s going to really enjoy it.

Coach, does he have any big relationships with current commits?

Your passion for LSU is awesome coach. I'm not sure who's more excited, you or Quad, lol

I've enjoyed our discussions on here, even when not exactly in line w each other...we are all in it for the common good, LSU

Congrats on the journey reaching at least, this point.

I texted Coach J today for an update and all I got out of him that he confirmed O's comments that Lowell did look good in the scrimmage and he and Quad were meeting with O and Esminger at 3:15.

But Im sure we will hear more by tomorrow after they get back in town.

Update Time:

Quad Visit

The visit went well. Really well. Quad and another DT came with me and I brought my 9 year old Son. We got checked in right at 9:00, and greeted by good friend of mine Coach Hawkins ( great new hire from UAB), and Coach DiAngelo from the recruiting department. Once we got checked in they took Quad into the QB Meetings with Coach E and all the current QBs. Quad was the only QB recruit this weekend.

While Quad was in meetings, my son and I were kept company by Coach Hawkins and 2 of the Tiger Recruiting Hosts. They hung out and walked us around while Quad got good Quality time with the staff and team. Coach O even came over and spoke to me and my son (which caused made my sons day)

About 20 min before the scrimmage we met Quad in the indoor to watch the Tigers warm up. Quad got to stay on the field in the middle of the QBs while they warmed up.

The scrimmage started right after warm ups and we stayed right on the sideline with the Offensive players and staff during the entire scrimmage.

(More details about scrimmage on next post)

After the scrimmage they took us into the locker room for his photo shoot, and even treated my son like a prospect (they made him a tag, had him take photos in Tiger gear, etc.) After the photo shoot they gave all of us a full tour of the facilities.

After the facility tour, they brought us back in and asked Quad and I to meet back with Coach E. We met in his office for a while really just chatting about what we saw in the scrimmage, what they are building in regards to the offense, why they were doing certain concepts, against certain coverages, and really what they are looking for over all in a QB. After we wrapped that up we talked about where we are in the recruiting process with Quad.

Coach E told us that they have the sign off of everyone in the building and that everyone likes him, believes that he is SEC Caliber and can play QB at LSU, including Coach O. He said that they have checked all boxes on him except the last one, and that’s an in person eval. He said they are coming to see him at Spring Practice and want to work 1 on 1 with him at the Day Camp. He said if the in person confirms what they suspect and have seen so far, they will pull that trigger. He did not mince words, was straight forward and to the point.

After our meeting with Coach E, we said bye to everyone and that was that. I fullly expect the offer to come at Camp, and man are we excited about it!

One a somewhat interesting side note: Dr Marucci spent some time with Quad during the tour of the Athletic Training room.

Shortly after as we walked back into the indoor Dr Marucci pulled me to the side, and told me that Quad is a leader, and a special young man. He said that while, it’s not his lane, he looked forward to Quad getting his offer and becoming a Tiger. He made a point to pull me to the side and tell me this, which I thought was cool. Interesting guy. We probably talked for 30 min.

Last but not least about the recruiting trip, I want to say that I was highly pleased with the professionalism of the staff, and how efficient and organized everything was. We felt like family and felt a different energy in the building from some other places.

Quad had a great great time. Spent a ton of time with the staff and players. Came away with confirmation about how he felt. Quad loved the Offense.

Also Shea Dixon called and interviewed Quad today. Story coming tomorrow. I can’t say enough about 247 and there professionalism.

We are close to Champagne time guys...scrimmage post to follow.

Love these unique updates with insider insights man. Its been really fun and exciting to follow, and we appreciate you involving us so intimately in a process that many of us would never otherwise get an up close view on.

Glad yall had a great time, glad to coaching staff is on its A-Game in regards to recruiting, and Im excited about the possibility of Quad in a two QB class, so he has time to learn the system and grow without pressures of starting right away. Huge upside with this kid, and he seems great for the team dynamic with his leadership traits that are inherent and cant be taught
