Scrimmage Post:
I want to preface this by saying that I have been in the building at a lot of schools including Alabama a lot, and I’ve seen an LSU practice before.
2 words: HOLY CRAP.
I have never been to a more hype, organized, energy filled, and focused practice and scrimmage before in my life. From warmups to breakdown, the entire staff and team were in fire. Both the Offense and Defense got AFTER it . It was awesome seeing Coach O and the staff working cohesively, and the players practicing with so much passion and fire. Full throttle from start to finish.
Both the Offense and Defense competed very hard.
The Offense looks great so far. Lots of multiple, RPO, 4 wide sets, empty backfield, and the route tree looked really good. Lots of crossing routes, and intermediate balls.. They like throwing to the H back too. They looked a lot like what the Saints like to do, which made sense after our conversation with E.
They are definitely throwing to open the run and DAMN we can still run the ball. The Offensive line looked very physical.
Lowell looked GREAT yesterday. What struck me was the velocity on the ball and accuracy on his back shoulder throws. Extended a few plays and threw some downfield strikes on the run. Was very impressed.
McMillan looked pretty good too. Brennan looked Ok, but didn’t come away as impressed as I did with the other two guys. Granted it’s one practice.
I will say that there is a fulll blown QB competition going on.
Terrace Marshall is Nasty. You can see the impact Jerry Sullivan is having in the receivers.
Thaddeus Moss looked GREAT. He made some great catches.
Clyde was a BEAST!! Man he’s gonna have a big year.
Lastly I will say that I was really surlrised and pleased with what they are doing on Offense.Especially with only 10 practices.

Thanks for both of these posts Coach! You have invested your time to keep us informed, although you have no obligation to do so. Your effort is appreciated!
Looking forward to seeing Quad as a Tiger.

Not criticizing, but he is obviously a little thin. I assume y’all are working on it. Do you foresee him adding easily , or he just has one of those metabolism that makes it hard. I understand he is very young, just would like your honest opinion coach ?

Good Question. It hasn’t been a concern from any Coach recruiting him thus far. He’s got the frame to put the weight on and he will. Dr Marucci and I talked about this as well. Not a concern. It will happen during a red shirt year.

Isn’t quad 6’5? I think you’re right, with a redshirt year he can easily put on 20-30 lbs of good weight.

Yes. It is. Just a matter of when.

Who's who in the first picture?
Posted on 4/15/18 at 9:43 pm to 1BIGTigerFan
My son is the little guy. I’m the one with the glasses on and the black hat, Josh has the white shirt on, the other guy is a friend of ours, and Quad is the 6’5 future QB of LSU

Thanks for answering coach. Pictures are worth a thousand words. You can obviously look at that young mans face and see the pure excitement and enjoyment he is having. I remember my recruitment .. Let him visit anyone that will have him. We know where his heart is, assuming your feelings are correct, and let the chips fall where they may. Hopefully he has great Senior Year and we pull the trigger. Geaux Tigers!!!!!!

Thanks for all that. It was a unique take on Spring, which is hard to come by. The practice report had me psyched.
